Used this box in a tiny Weber grill…the type you buy at the hardware store for $14.00. Weren’t sure it would fit, but it did. Added hickory chips which were soaked for about a half hour. Grilled a steak and it was delicious.

I use it to cold smoke cheese. I put the wood chips in and put a couple of red-hot charcoal brickets to burn the chips (not the directions that came with it but works well). I put the block of cheese near the chimney and the smoker box at the other end of the smoker and do not add additional heat from the smoker. Works great. ... show more

I too, am confined and obligated to follow the rules of my condo association. I miss grilling with an open flame. I was having a hard time finding reviews about how well/if this works with electric grills. If you have patience, YES it works! It will take a bit for the grill to heat up, but it will smoke like crazy before you know it. I’ve cooked steaks and chicken and while the gas/charcoal taste is miles better, this will still help give you that smoky flavor in your food. I have a Weber Q 2400 Electric Grill and place the box with wood chips in it right on the grill top. It takes about 20 minutes for the grill to get hot and the chips to smoke up.
