So far really good. Great for rotisseries at home. Chicken came out very tender and juicy. So many compliments at dinner! I was initially worried about a burning/smoke issue that someone mentioned but I had no issues. I roasted for over an hour at 400 degrees. It seemed intimidating taking it out of the hot oven to wind it up again but I got the hang of it. I recommend using a grippy or a rubber mitt. Cleanup was not bad. Next time, I'll put the roaster on top of a sheet pan and line the drip tray with foil. Maybe throw in some veggies to soak up the drippings. Anyone who's ever roasted a chicken in a pan the regular way knows that cooking through one part often means sacrificing another (under cooked legs or dried out breast). The slow rotation of this roaster makes such a difference. I didn't even have to truss the legs. It's completely self-basting, not drowning in its own juices. It renders in its own fat instead of being boiled in a stagnant coagulating pool. All of the excess fat drips off but the chicken is still succulent. Glad I found this. Been looking for something simple that just rotates my damn chicken so it can roast evenly. You just wind it up, no wires or anything. And it's collapsible, I store it away in my cabinet. I should've gotten it with the basket so that I can roast other stuff. Can't wait to try it when I go camping. ... show more

    • Gearbox Smokes & Smells - Stainless Steel Unit

I purchased the stainless-steel unit. I'm not sure what materials are inside of the gearbox, but whatever it is, it smokes and smells badly. The rest of the unit seems to be stainless steel, but I don't think the gearbox itself should have smoke bellowing out of it and whatever that smoke is, it smells like burning plastic. I have inquired through Roto-Q's support to see if they can confirm what materials make up the inside of the gearbox, the springs, etc., but have yet to hear back. If you look on their FB page, you will see another customer complaining of the same issue. I'm worried my food is contaminated and also now my house since it's a nasty smelling smoke. I'm looking for answers and will update the review, if I happen to receive any from Roto-Q. Buyer Beware! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. My big green egg knockoff is a champ. Paid $200 years ago used, I leave it outside uncovered and it just went through 4 feet of salt water from hurricane Idalia. I just couldn’t justify buying a joetisserie that only work on this size kamando grill AND I would need electricity! So then I’m paying for some kind of battery setup or massive extension cord. This thing winds up, fits on my existing and future grills, can be brought inside and washed in the dishwasher. Big fan of it so far. Did a twice smoked hickory ham first but plan of doing shawarma next. Will post more pictures. ... show more

I wanted a rotisserie for my pellet grill without drilling through it. I found this. It's 100% as advertised. I wish it held more weight and spun around longer. Winding it while hot and on a grill is a little daunting... but it's a rotisserie without power. There's going to be some give. It's great for small chickens and kabobs. Works OK, but be aware, it is only 11” wide not 17” like it says on the site. The 17” Basket that is extra but suggested to add, won’t fit this rotisserie. Its also impossible to clean, its not coated in anyway, You can’t soak it because you would probably ruin the motor. You have to wind it up every 45 minutes , so you have to take it out of the oven and wind it, which takes around 5 minutes. Very disappointed for $108. ... show more
