The picture being advertised is very deceptive. Very thin and more like a mat or a very flat pillow. Not worth $150. Very disappointed with this purchase and amazon. I bought this because it had 4 stars but after reviewing all the comments about this product I realized that most of the good reviews are probably made/paid by the manufacturer so that the product will sell, and we’re not made by real customers. I got this product as a gift for my birthday and I love it. I work night audit at a hotel and was not happy sitting in my office chair for hours at a time. No bed provided, I started looking into cots I could bring to and from work. I did a lot of comparison shopping and decided upon this product. Demoted 1 star because this mattress not truly 4 inches thick. Hard to get a good image that reflected this. When you are laying it it without padding underneath, you can feel the floor. When I want more padding I fold it in half and it's still perfectly wide enough for 1 person. All in all, great product. The "bags" that came with it fell apart immediately and were far too small. The belts that come with it are just okay. I plan on buying nicer ones to make carrying it from my car to my office easier. ... show more

After my last two beds ended up being kind of cheap and disappointing I decided to give a futon a shot. I opted for this one because they didn't vacuum seal it so it wasn't going to come compressed (My first bad-mattress experience was shipped like this, a foam mattress, and it never quite fluffed up the way it was supposed to so I wanted to avoid this). Ours arrived a little earlier than expected and was packed nice. Came with two carrying cases and a cover in the same pattern which I was happy about. My husband and I put it over a rug for a little extra cushion from the floor (Ground floor apartment in NY in winter). It took a little getting used to but we absolutely love it. It's easy to move if we need extra space (since we just moved we've been rearranging furniture a bit so not having to move a mattress around while we decide where things work best has been a massive plus for me), and with how easy it folds up and the carrying case we have a convenient portable bed if we ever claim floor space at a friend's. I know through my research futons were going to be firmer than western mattresses, and that people of a larger weight might have trouble being comfortable. I personally have loved the firmness of the mattress after sleeping in beds that sorta created divots overtime, and as a larger person I haven't had any issues sleeping on the floor like this. I've noticed my back has been straightening out and, aside from the fact I sometimes have to sleep weird so my dog has space on the bed, I don't wake up with nearly as much back pain as I used to. If you live in a small space or just need an affordable bed in a pinch, I think this is a great option plus the patterns available are pretty cute. We put an extra blanket over ours for an extra level of protection for it too and it's great. We don't live in an area where we can sun dry it but we've found our own solutions. ... show more

I bought this as a temporary bed during a move. It is remarkably comfortable for as compact as it can be. I plan on using it as a lounging mat in the future after its role as temporary bed is done. This mat came sealed in a plastic bag inside of a bag inside of a box inside of another box. So as far as shipping goes, I am impressed. That being said, I do love this new little tatami mat. It came with two straps for rolling it bsck up, two carrying bags, and a dust cover with the same pattern as the bed itself. You do have to let it sit there for a little while since it was compressed for shipping but let me tell you, my back feels SO much better after using this and not relying on blankets om the floor. It's not super thick and it definitely doesn't feel the same as a mattress but it is still really nice and easy enough to adjust to if you're also someone looking for a replacement bed. I do, however suggest sleeping on your back. Sleeping on your side might hurt a little. ... show more

Once I received the product, I opened it immediately to give time to fluff. The product is very very light weight. There was some filling coming out of the mattress, seeing which I saw it was torn, but turned out that it was stitched that way. It took a little more than expected time to fluff but it does not all look like a 4-inch in depth. I think the thickness is barely 2 inches. Although the good thing is that I did not feel the floor while sleeping on it. Also it turned out to be a little smaller than the queen size, but it worked for me. The cover it came packed in is of very poor quality and tore immediately when I was opening the package. Overall it is not worth $150 but is comfortable enough to be used as an alternate bedding.
