The battery is larger and heavier than I initially anticipated, but placed in the battery holder on the end of the Edger and it is perfectly balanced! Now I was concerned whether or not the battery would last long enough for my whole yard @1/3rd of an acre? After 2 hours, it was still showing full power - What?! However, I was not concerned because my hard-ground lawn soil, and curb/sidewalk/patio/driveway edges, too, were not an obstacle to this battery powered GreenWorks PRO Edger! No other edger has gone through my lawn on one pass with clean (and deep) edges on one pass before! Not one! This one did. I have been mowing and edging this yard for 32 years. Only been through 5 previous gas powered edgers, plus 3 weed-wackers. This GreenWorks PRO Edger powered by the GreenWorks 80 Volt 5 Amp MAX lithium Ion battery sliced through it all like a sharp hot knife through butter, or through cheese!! Yes, I highly recommend the GreenWorks PRO Edger with the GreenWorks 80 Volt 5 Amp MAX Lithium ION Battery and the GreenWorks Charger for suburban yards! Thought it might be the charger not able to handle the extra capacity but put it in a new 80V charger and does the same thing. Once the fan kicks on the light flashes orange and stops charging.

I have many green works landscape tools/equipment , for daily (business) commercial use . The 80v 5.0 amh design is superior in run time , battery life with the green works equip line . Compared to what is in the market currently for all the other familiar brands of cordless equip , you find in the big box retailers like home depot & lowes . Green works has the edge in the cordless market so far . Green works is usually sold from lawnmower repair shops , not so much in big box stores . Green works batteries are not cheap , you get what you pay for . ... show more

As you can see, the battery sticks out of the top of the leaf blower & is about twice the weight of the 2.5, over 6 lbs. I wouldn't want to use this in a hand held tool like the weed wacker or chain saw, but with the blower it's no big deal and well worth the extra amount of time per charge. The 2.5s last me about 20 - 25 minutes running non stop at full throttle while this lasted about 45. Not nearly the 60 min. advertised but enough to get my deck and 4,000 ft driveway clear of leaves in one shot. ... show more

Before you order a new one try charging it vertically like in the picture. It sounds ridiculous but I found this trick online and I can't believe it actually worked for me. Clearly there is a design issue with the battery where it won't charge but it does charge vertically. I like my blower but the batteries are terrible and their price is basically of a new blower set. ... show more
