My niece has been wanting her own microscope for awhile and this is a good starter kit to have. The nice thing is that you also get a pretty nice storage/carrying case. For the most part, the case can store everything. I do wish that the case at least had slots for everything. I feel like you have to jam it in sometimes. The visuals are not bad. It can be straining on some eyes like any microscope viewing can be. It does have lighting to help see you samples. There are sample provided but you can make your own as you wish although you may have to buy you own slides. There are clamps to help with holding the slides. Make sure you are careful not to push the scope too far down and break the thing you are viewing. Dust can accumulate on the lens so just wipe it with some lens cleaner. The zoom on this is not bad but it did take my niece some practice to get a good shot. The viewing is good and clear. Again this is not industrial grade but it give my niece a chance to practice and learn on her own. You can adjust the dials as need to get a clearer view. You are able to get plenty of lighting to see th sample. I dis not see any issues with angles or reflection. The instructions are straight forward and easy to learn. It just takes practice. Overall this is a good device for kids to learn from and it gives you samples or you can make your own to view. The device is not super heavy so it is easy to take out and put back in. The zoom is pretty nice. It is fairly easy to use and learn from. The case is nice but I wish it had slots to hold everything rather than feeling like you need to jam everything in.

I first tried a different brand of microscope and could not see images at all. I tried 2 scopes of this type and sent them both back. I read reviews and decided on this one. This one is pretty great! First off, to see really well, you really need the binocular view rather than the single view which this scope has. The book provided with it was very helpful and it showed images of the slides that were provided as they look under the microscope so you know what you are trying to see. This is a game-changer as you can identify things much easier and learn to use the focus controls is you have an idea of what you are actually trying to see. It is also nice that you can move the slide with the use of the controls so you can see the entire specimen. The scope seems well made and is priced very reasonably. I would recommend it. The only downfall is that the cord is too short. It barely reached my outlet near my counter. I guess you could always use an extension cord. Overall, I recommend this microscope.

The media could not be loaded. For an affordable microscope, this one knocked it out of the park! My kids have had a blast with this, and it's been durable enough despite the abuse of kids lugging it around into places it should not be! It arrived in well thoughtout packaging, being secured by an appropriate amount of padding and plastic without being overbearing. Setup was very minimal before it was operational. The size of the unit is a strong point. Its big enough for an adult to comfortably use it, while being sized ideally for children. The controls are all easy to reach and adjust, both during and before active use. Responsive while having enough tension to not be too easy to accidentally adjust, they felt very good to use. Certainly wasn't like the microscopes we used in the classroom as kids! The recording feature worked easy enough and provided high quality video and images which helped explain things to the children and assist them in learning about things they cannot see. The prepared slides were a nice touch, as it meant we had a starting point to show them how it works, what type of materials and in what preparation are viewable, and were just a nice value-add touch to a very affordable unit. Quite happy with this one!

The media could not be loaded. The only additional ordering I had to do with this microscope was to order different slides of different things. Other than that, this microscope is absolutely easy to use. I personally have not used one in years but this was really easy to figure out. Once we put the slides in, what you see and the clarity is amazing. Not only was I able to zoom in and see some of the smallest of cells, but my kids were able to figure it out themselves too. I included a picture of one of the slides we looked at and I love that I was able to capture a picture of it with my phone, which I didn't think I would be able to do but was. I did have to do a bit of editing to get the phone picture clear, but when looking at different things, this microscope allowed us to do so. Plus, it came with a carrying case!

This microscope is good enough for light studying and 'exploratory' use. It has a lot of nice features that are mitigated by imperfect manufacturing. The Eyepieces are adjustable, but each eye's image is slightly rotated so the images can't be aligned and I felt cross-eyed while using it. The eyepieces also don't have cups to help with eye alignment. The sub-deck light could be a bit brighter at maximum magnification (but this can be resolved by removing the filter cover on the light). My biggest issue is the amount of debris from shipping. The magnifiers should have had covers on them, as all three lenses were rather dirty. I'm going to have to figure out the best way to clean them without causing damage to the lenses. On a more positive note, this microscope packs everything I could have wanted with regards to features. The coarse adjustment and fine adjustment work very smoothly (although I wish there was an 'extra fine' adjustment, sometimes the fine was still too coarse). It is easy to control the position of the slides on the viewing deck with the adjustment knobs. Brightness is adjustable. The Slide holder is easy to use. In all, this would make an almost perfect argument to be used during high school biology, despite its drawbacks.
