I took advantage of a nice bundle offer to buy this 13-inch battery-powered mower with a second battery included, and after a few uses, I'm quite impressed. It mows well, and doesn't do too badly even with grass that I've let get too long. BUT, I underestimated how narrow a 13-inch mowing swath is on a 1/3 acre lawn, and I've decided I really want a bigger mower, so I've ordered the 19-inch version that's just about the same thing but bigger. That's how happy I was with this one. This has two modes for dealing with the grass cuttings: it can keep them inside so the blade keeps chopping them up as they fall, i.e. "mulching" the grass to leave behind, OR you lift the rear flap, remove the mulch plug, and attach the included grass bag to the back, and the cuttings fly out the back into the bag. You can lift the flap to pull grass out of the bag, or detach the bag and dump it out somewhere. The bag fills up pretty quickly if you're cutting tall grass, or if the mulch plug is still in place instead of the bag, the mower can tend to clog with tall grass. This is one reason I want a bigger mower. Either way, it's not hard to stop mowing and clear the grass. If you mow regularly when the grass is pretty dry and not too tall, this should be less of an issue. My biggest complaint is that the mowing height adjustment doesn't really let you adjust the height very much. Kinda short and really very short are the range of options. I'd love the choice to leave a few inches. This isn't a dealbreaker, though. Some reviews mention the short battery life, but that's why I'm glad I got a second battery, and I highly recommend that. Each battery should last about a half hour (my experience is that I got a bit more than a half hour of work time) and if you can swap a second one on when the first runs out of juice, you can keep working. The advantages of leaving a gas engine behind, and not trying to mow with a cord trailing behind you, make the battery trade-offs worth it, I think. The batteries DO need to cool off before they can recharge. The charger will show a red light if the battery's too warm to start charging, and it will then automatically start when it's cool enough. That means you can't run one battery down and pop it right back in the charger and hope to use it again after draining the second battery. For me, that's fine. After an hour or so of work, I need a break anyway -- or I'm probably done with the job. This is a simple and affordable machine, but it in no way feels cheap. I like that the handlebar is padded to protect my hands from vibration effects of some mowers. The "safety" pushbutton to start the mower and the lever you can release to instantly stop it are super simple. I also appreciate that I can fold up the mower so it takes less storage space. ... show more

I really liked it for the most part. I had one similar to this one that I loved…battery power kinda doesn’t last very long but with the 2nd battery you sorta solve the issue. It is very light weight…. Compare a tonka truck to a Barbie doll vehicle…gets you what you need… just a bit of a light weight doing it. It dies on me a lot because the grass gets clogged or it is too thick for it to go threw… newly planted grass… but all in all… I’m still using it… ... show more

Pros: Great price point Battery goes into a covered compartment that is easy to access, but keeps dirt and grass out Battery lasts long enough at least to mow around a small lot around a travel trailer Extremely lightweight and has a handle on top to pickup and move, makes maneuvering much easier, too Pretty quiet (at least in comparison to a traditional gas mower) Adjustable deck height Cons: The deck size is pretty small, so it requires extra passes to get the entire yard, but for everything considered, this isn't a deal-breaker The height on the handle is low for me, being over 6 foot tall, but I would think this would be fine for most people. Luckily its lightweight enough that it isn't a back-breaker. In spite of the drawbacks, still give this a 5/5 stars and would definitely recommend it for anyone that has trouble using a heavier mower, or that has a small area they need to mow. ... show more

They had this on clearance and I needed a new mower. However it is NOT how it’s advertised. Mower is A LOT smaller than it looks and shows on Amazon. And stops working at the TINIEST amount of thick grass and gets clogged up. It took me a full battery and most of a second one to mow my entire lawn.

We had a Little Joe and needed to replace it. For some reason we went with this one and its not been great. Sorry. Too low to the ground and maneuvering is a struggle

    • Don’t waste your money

I wanted this to touch up my lawn in between lawn service coming. It’s made of plastic and the height adjustment kept falling to lowest setting. It was not sturdy enough to hold in place. I was so disappointed I returned it.

It was simple to put together, light weight and easy to use. I would recommend getting this for smaller yards as the batteries do not last more than 30-40 minutes max. Does not cut through dense tall grass or weeds too great - will have to take multiple passes. It is quieter than most other mowers & the bag is a good size for the size of the mower. Overall, if you have good up-keep of your lawn this mower will get through it pretty easily. ... show more
