  • Do not pass this up
I use this to take bp readings easily 7 time a day at least. I get usually about 18 months of use before the cuff develops a leak. This machine takes bp as it airs up it usually take less then 1 minute to get a reading. This machine is really good at getting readings even on patients with Parkinson.

  • It correlates with manual readings!
I have had this for over a year and a half now, and it still works great. It is accurate as long as the size is appropriate. Until recently, I couldn’t speak to accuracy. Recently I took a manual BP for a friend, then decided to compare it to this cuff. Over several days it has shown to be close to the numbers I hear (been a nurse over 20 years when we used to only do manual BPs). It’s easy to change users, and is fairly easy to put on your own arm. I recently took my friend’s BP manually as they were feeling bad. The batteries last awhile, and it fits a wide range of arm sizes. ... show more

  • Great blood pressure monitor at a reasonable price
I recently found out I have hypertension and my doctor recommended that I get a blood pressure monitor. In the search for a good monitor, I read a New York Times/Wirecutter review which listed a Greater Goods monitor (model 0604) as their top pick and another Greater Goods monitor (model 0602) as the runner-up. As I only wanted a good, basic monitor without bells and whistles like Bluetooth connectivity, i decided on this model, 0662, and am very pleased with it. I had little experience with blood pressure monitors and found this very easy to use. It has everything one really needs in a monitor. It detects irregular heartbeats, averages out the last 3 readings, and its memory function stores 60 readings for one or two users. The multi-colored interface is easy to read and preferable compared to the dull, black-and-white interfaces found on many other monitors. It also comes with a carrying pouch, plus a two-year warranty which I was able to extend for an additional two years through an offer available at time of purchase. The heavy duty AAA batteries the unit came with lasted for a little less than a month. Replacing them with rechargeable 800 mAh AAA batteries gives enough power for ~2 months use based on 4 tests/day (2 in the morning and 2 in the evening). Your mileage may vary depending on how often the monitor is used. A couple of very minor nits: It would be better to have the LCD panel display the day, date and time on a single line instead of having to cycle the display through each one separately (but I realize Greater Goods was limited in what they could do in that they couldn't fit everything on one line given the screen size along with the size of the LCDs used). The other would be to have the ability to scroll up and down through the readings instead of just being able to scroll in one direction (down). This would help when comparing multiple readings from different times and days. Aside from these two small matters, I'm more than satisfied with this monitor and highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Systolic reading not even close
I had a wrist bp monitor, but after being diagnosed with elevated bp, I decided to purchase one with an arm cuff for the "improved accuracy". When I compared the Greater Goods monitor with my old Rite Aid wrist monitor, the readings on the wrist monitor were consistently higher. Believing that the Greater Goods monitor with the arm cuff was more accurate, I monitored my blood pressure with it for several months. During this time, my blood pressure appeared to have returned to normal, which I optimistically attributed to the medication and lifestyle changes. I began to wonder about the accuracy of this monitor after my bp readings taken during several Dr visits (at different offices) was always considerably higher than readings I was getting on the Greater Goods monitor. I decided to check the Greater Goods monitor against a manual bp monitor. After numerous measurements taken over several days, I found that the Greater Goods systolic reading was consistently around 10 to 15 mm too low and the diastolic reading was consistently around 5 to 10 mm too low. It turns out that my older wrist monitor is in much closer agreement with the manual sphygmomanometer. I suppose the lesson is to have any of these mass produced inexpensive bp monitors checked against a manual sphygmomanometer before putting any faith in the readings. ... show more

  • I needed for preclampsia
When I was pregnant I needed to check my blood pressure a few times a day to make sure it didn't get to high so ultimately this device saved my life and my child's life by letting me know it's time for me to go to the hospital and right away they delivered him
