We decided on a stethoscope to go with our BlueTooth Blood Pressure Monitor we have. You know Covid and all. Thought we be good to check our vitals and be on top of things. We are 60 now. Sigh I was not sure at first, but it was a good value and maybe I might find other uses for it since we don't get sick much. Well, the wife got dizzy spells and vomiting. A bit scary, but we use the BP monitor and her vitals were good and we used the stethoscope to listen for stuff in the lungs. There were clean sounding. She phoned a nurse for an appointment and she said "You should go the ER and get tested for Covid". We replied, we checked our vitals and lungs and had no other symptoms. She decided, we were not candidates for Covid and set us up with an appoint for the afternoon. Saved us a trip to the ER. Packaging was good. Instructions are clear and concise.     • If you have great hearing these will be just fine
I'm a nurse, so I do a lot of teach and train with my patients and staff. I'm always looking for economical and reliable equipment to give out to them. Because of covid I have been trying to find low-cost items to prevent any exchange or contact between people. These were really nicely priced. They weren't the lowest cost they weren't the highest cost in an entry level stethoscope, however they performed at the lower end of the spectrum for a conduction quality. I couldn't use it with any of my older population and in the 40 to 60 range it was hit and miss as to whether or not they could hear what I needed them to be able to recognize. If you're young or have super great hearing, these will probably work and their low cost. But I'm in my 40s and know what I'm listening for and when it should be there and I had to struggle at times especially if there was anything happening around me. ... show more

FULL DISCLOSURE- I had received an email from Greather Goods, regarding a full rebate for the stethoscope if I purchased on line. Coincidently, I had been looking for not only that but also a blood pressure cuff for my expanded first aid kit, so this was perfect. I also bought the blood pressure cuff, which was a great price. Both products are well made and durable. The company's staff (i.e. customer service) was very responsive when I had questions about the rebate. In addition, the stethoscope comes with a little card to help you get started in the event you've never used one before. The best thing about this company is that they sell these products and use the proceeds to help others. You should check them out! ... show more

Full disclosure: I did receive a refund for purchase for this review. I have an older unit from another vendor that I bought for about the same price as this one, so I had a way to compare. This unit has curved ear tubes that fit the ear more comfortably. The older unit had straight tubes. The spare parts included is a plus although they may never be needed. This unit has the two hearing methods - the diaphragm and the narrow hole - that you can select. The older unit did not. The most significant thing is that the sound from this unit is noticeably louder than the older one so it is more sensitive. ... show more

    • Great stethoscope at a great price
This is a great stethoscope at a great price. It's very lightweight but has a quality feel to it. I've been using a Littmann stethoscope for the last 20 years and while this one feels less substantial, it definitely performs on par with the Littmann. One big pro is that Greater Goods includes several replacement parts (membrane and ear buds) and offers free replacement of those parts for the life of the product. My only con is that I've got a huge melon and the stethoscope is a bit too tight for my comfort, even when adjusted to fit. That said, it's still useable and not exactly uncomfortable. I have used this several times since I purchased it and it works as well as any other stethoscope that I have ever used. This is one of those products that either works or it doesn't and I am happy to say that it works perfectly. For me what really stands out about this product are the lifetime parts. I have reached out to their support previously and they are very responsive, so I think that getting parts that are needed is a great bonus. I am not a health professional, so I can't really compare to other stethoscopes. That said, this is a good stethoscope at a great price. I use it to monitor the health of my aging Great Dane; I can clearly hear his heartbeat. I also let my nieces and nephews listen to their own hearts, so they know what the pediatrician is doing. The older kiddos and I are now looking for a safe to crack. Greater Goods has phenomenal customer service, so it's always a pleasure doing business with them. ... show more
