  • Absolutely fantastic blinds!
Back in late May/early June, I ordered one of these as a test and was impressed enough to order enough for the rest of my house. Well, that full order was placed on July 8th and despite the warning of delivery late September/early October, they arrived on Monday this week. I've spent the week installing, testing, configuring, etc. and everything is working PERFECTLY! Here's a few things to know... 1. Quality ... the material is not as thick as I'd personally like, mostly because I have cats with claws, so I worry about them scratching/tearing it over time. I have to keep an eye on them for a while to make sure they don't mess with them. This is probably my only real complaint, but that said the actual quality of material is perfectly fine. There were no defects of any kind, the motors work well, and nothing was bent/damaged. The packing of the blinds for shipment was notably solid as well. My test blind did have a small wrinkle in it, but I was able to iron it on lowest heat setting without steam/water to correct it. The blinds are too new on the market, and I've only had them a short time, so I'm not able to say if the material will have any fading/discoloration issues over time. 6 of my 8 windows face west, so they see sunlight for about 80% of daylight hours, so hopefully this won't be an issue long term. My blinds are the white material. Lastly, the motors are not as loud as I feared, however, don't expect them to be silent either. My living room blinds are set to auto-open 50% at 4AM in order for my cats to watch the birds in the bird feeder... the first night it woke me up, as a new sound, but since then I've slept right through it. 2. Installation ... the manual I received this time was a bit different from the one I got with my test blind, and while still not 100% clear, it was better than the original. I'd honestly offer to draft a better version for them if they were interested. The mounting screw/anchor provided would probably be fine for many people, however, for my case I preferred to use self-drilling zinc wall anchors. My windows are 38.5" wide, so I measured in from left/right edge of frame about 3", marked where the anchor needed to go, drilled it in, and then secured the mounting brackets. Next, I mounted the blinds into the brackets, and plugged them in. They are automatically in pairing mode, so feel free to use Tuya Smart Life to pair them right away before continuing. Each one comes preconfigured for the measurements you provide when ordering, so if things aren't quite right for you (I needed to adjust bottom set points to accommodate cat perches in my windows), this is where it gets tricky following the manual. Using the remote, you have a number (1-9) associated with the channel you're using. Use +/- to select the channel, then press motor button (use pen/pin/screw tip) once to "jog" the motor, press and hold up button until it pairs with the motor. After this, the reset button on back of remote is used to activate specific numbered FUNCTIONS (1-3-5) for set/delete/delete all positions, respectively. Don't confuse these numbers for the channel. For example to set a new down limit, you do the following: Set blind position down that you desire. Select Channel 5 paired to 5th blind using +/- buttons, then press reset button on back of remote 1 time (for function 1), then press jog motor button, then press Up arrow and the motor should auto-jog. Press jog button again on motor to "save." If you were looking to delete the position, you'd do the same process but choose function 3 instead of 1, and function 5 deletes ALL saved positions... although, if you do this, be VERY careful resetting the TOP position... when it reaches the top, the motor will continue going, and the bottom bar of the blinds might roll the entire blind off the mounting bracket... don't ask me how I know this, lol. Anyway, I don't write all this to scare anyone or convey an issue. I'm only sharing my experience so that others can have an easier time. All this said, the first blind took me approximately an hour to install, tune the bottom reset position for my window. My other blinds took me no more than a half hour each after that. Also, each blind was already in pairing mode for Tuya Smart Life app, so I had no problem using "Auto Scan" to detect each one. HOWEVER, make sure you do have 2.4GHz mode for your access point/router... some mesh routers no longer have this channel, and it will be an issue for you. I use a Netgear Orbi router that auto-detects the channel and had no issues at all. 3. Using Tuya Smart Life ... Tuya was easy. Click the Add Device button, click Auto Scan, and it should auto detect. If not, unplug and plug in the blinds again, and try auto scan again within 30s of plugging in. If you still have problems detecting it, try pressing motor jog button 3 times only. Do NOT press it more times, or you risk resetting all the set positions. Once added to Tuya app, operation is very simple. Up raises, Down lowers, and Pause stops it. The slider to choose position is, sadly, restricted to 10% increments... I'd personally like to set 5% just due to my windows, but I believe it to be a Tuya thing not an issue with the blinds, because using the remote, I can set whatever I want. One other thing to note in Tuya Smart Life, if you want to use Alexa Routines to automatically schedule the blinds to specific positions (instead of full open/close), you will need to use Smart Scenes Tap-to-Run Automations in Tuya. These will auto-appear in Alexa as Scenes that you can use for your Routines. 4. Alexa ... Devices added to Tuya Smart Life, once the skill is paired to Alexa, will automatically add to Alexa using the same name configured in Tuya. For example, I configured my Guest Bedroom Blind with this name, and it appeared as such in Alexa. So pick obvious names that you can remember. Using Alexa, you can use the following commands natively: Alexa, turn on the Guest Bedroom Blind... this will set it to full open position (100%). Alexa, turn off the Guest Bedroom Blind... this will set it to full closed position (0%). Alexa, set Guest Bedroom Blind 50%... this will set the blind to the 50% position. However, as I mentioned above, you MUST use Tap-to-Run Automations in Tuya to achieve set positions when using Routines. If you want to use open/close verbs instead of turn on/off, you will need to use Routines as well. These are limits of Tuya/Alexa integration for now, not of the blinds, and I do not consider it to be a problem. 5. I imagine Google integration is pretty similar to Alexa, although I don't use it, so I won't comment on specifics there. Conclusion: These are a great, affordable solution for anyone who wants the convenience of smart home automation for their window blinds/shades. They have both a hardwired (this one I'm reviewing) and a battery version, and it seems like they do have some other versions that use different material if you need blackout versions, etc. The company was VERY responsive to my early questions, and I'm very happy in my dealings with them. This review is my honest review after using a test blind for 30+ days and my full blinds for nearly a week. I'll update this in the future, if needed. I will be buying additional blinds in the future should I ever need them, and I'd recommend them to anyone in my family and friends as well. ... show more

The customer service was the best!!! The product was amazing. My husband installed them easily, he would have nothing unless it had a remote, these were perfect. I had a good choice of fabrics and backers. They sent out a selection of fabrics to look at and backers to choose from. The price/cost was so low we were skeptical of buying. Value is in the nice product, but in the customer service, selection, and the service after the sale. We had excellent service even after the sale, they did not just get the order to us then drop us. Just bought a town home and i didn’t realize how much work it’s to get curtains for triangular windows. (Still working on my top windows). However, this have done a fantastic job! Submitted the dimensions when I placed the order and it fit perfectly (as u can see on the pics). It works with Alexa which is a big plus for me and block the sun really good. I was going to go with shutters but opted for these blinds. My husband had no issues with installation and love them after they were put up. Just the right amount of privacy from a neighbor whose home faces the window with the new blinds and sufficient light depending on how much I wish. The communication from the company is fantastic! Four months later : I allowed the motor battery to drain resulting in the blind needing to be re programmed. Although I followed ,or so I thought, the Youtube directions on reprogramming but to no avail. Customer service actually did a zoom to walk me through the process and now am up and running again. I had got the wrong size. Customer service was incredible. They were quick to respond back. They sent me new size without motor and I had to pay only shipping fee. Switching the motor was easy. We have gotten alot of comments and it makes our house look futuristic. Works well with Alexa. I set routine so our 10 blinds come up and down together at sunrise and sunset.
