1.) installation is a breeze. 2.) Installed blinds require minimal effort to raise and lower. 3.) They are indeed room darkening (in direct sunlight they do let in a tiny tiny bit of light. This looks more like it is from the seams) 4.) The are best installed on the inside of the window frame to keep light from coming through on the sides.

I ordered one of these for one of my windows that gets much sun through it. I tried other supposed "blackout" shades, which were either too opaque or didn't work well. These look nice and add to the room's beauty while providing an excellent darkening level. I just ordered three more for the rest of the bedroom windows upstairs.

Good blackout quality, but not pure white

Because the shades are lined for blackout, the white appears a little gray. To be expected if you want it to work, though, so it’s worth it in my opinion!

Great blinds that are a must-have for pet owners, parents, and TV people

Without a doubt this product meets the expectation I had for it. We wanted to get blinds that completely blocked out the light as we had the cheapest blinds that you can get at Home Depot for years here and it always left a glare on the television that is across from these windows. As of putting these blinds up there is zero glare on the TV, the dogs do not destroy them by trying to look out the window, and we feel much safer because we have a toddler in the home and we have heard so many stories of tragedies that we are very glad these blinds were within our budget. I highly recommend them. Also installation was incredibly easy.

Fine for a while

We installed 3 sets between our upstairs bedrooms. They worked okay - easy to install and great at blocking light, but pretty annoying to raise and lower. One set started hanging unevenly and eventually broke on one side after about 8 months so that we can no longer open them. The other two are still fine, although they are used much less frequently.
