    • Pass. Loose and not waterproof.
I’m a professional gardener and I was looking for a low cost pair of warm boots to get me through until I could afford to buy the pair I wanted. I chose these hiking boots because they were affordable and looked pretty sturdy. After wearing them to work this week, here’s what I have to say about them. These a pretty good looking boots. I was hesitant about the “fur” but it’s more like a fleece material. It doesn’t matter too much, though because my pants cover it. The gray and purple goes with pretty much anything I wear to work. The Velcro straps aren’t bulky or ugly. They’re good looking boots. As far as comfort, these boots are initially great. The “fur” lining feels good on the feet. It does feel like walking on deep pile plush carpet. Very nice. Size wise, these fit the length and width of my foot fairly well. Unfortunately, the nylon straps with the Velcro closure are not adjustable and I could not get these boots as snug as I wanted. They felt loose and awkward to walk in. The looseness actually became problematic due to another issues with the boots. These boots are not waterproof and I’m not convinced they could even be considered water resistant. They actually seem to absorb moisture. I worked for two days in dry conditions so the boots were fine but then it rained. I did not wear these boots in the rain but I wore them after the rain. Within 20 minutes of walking on wet grass, these boots were saturated with water and my socks got soaked. Even when things dried out, my boots did not. I had wet feet all day and was actually experiencing pain from it when I got home. I was also experiencing some leg fatigue because these boots got heavier when they were wet. They weighed the same, if not more, than my steel toed work boots. The weight of the boots combined with the looseness of the straps made wearing these things a chore in itself. It was a workout! It wasn’t fun. What was even less fun that the weight and looseness was the sole of the boot. In any hiking shoe, I expect a thick rugged sole with no give that will hold up to rocks, sticks and other hard things on the ground. These boots do not deliver. I rolled my ankle after stepping on an acorn. The rubber on the sole was so soft that it did not crush the acorn, but caused it to roll, taking my foot out from under me. Later, I actually felt pain in my foot when stepping on a rock. Not cool. Stability is the first thing I expect in a hiking boot. I should not have to worry about falling or experiencing pain because I stepped on an acorn or a small rock. The last thing I want to cover is durability. These boots will be fine if you wear them to the mall with your favorite fleece vest but they aren’t going to hold up long if you wear them for outdoor activities such as hiking or doing yard work. They stain easily and don’t wipe clean, they get discolored when wet and stay darker than the original color even after dried. Because they don’t dry quick, the fleece lining became matted and somewhat crunchy. I, personally, would not recommend these boots. I got a pair of used high quality boots at a thrift store that were far more suitable for my needs. ... show more

It took a bit for shipping for these shoes but I have to say it was well worth the wait. These shoes are so much nicer then I even imagined. They are super sturdy and most of all the inside is furry, soft and very comfortable!! I work at a school and do outside recess. I'm so excited to wear these because they not only look cute but they actually function for warmth and you won't slip ,keep my feet toasty. I like the shoe. My daughter got a pair and her's fit her just right. I ordered what I was told by the measurements and the shoe was too big. So I gave them to my son who could wear them. Then ordered another pair and those were too big. On my last order again and hope these fit me this time. So if you are ordering them, get the size you would normally wear. ... show more
