The best is the back has a lock and release lever which allows you to adjust the angle just right for your back. There is another lever for stool height. Both work smoothly and don’t feel cheap. Third purchase. First on Jun 3, 2022. to arms on the base failed immediately, replace right away in 10 days lasted 18 months after one arm one base failed. Better. Second on Jan 31, 2023. Lasted only 8 months. Hydraulic post failed. Stool lifts but will not hold in lowered position. Third purchase on Sept 2, 2024. bought the extended warranty, will see how it goes. I weigh 310 lb, well under the 350-400 lbs rating. My last purchase unless stool made sturdier. Love the stool, would pay a few $ more for better quality. ... show more

I'm a tattoo artist, and I needed something that would provide better back support than the sad little stool I was using. This works wonders. The first day I used it, I was sore for a couple days-- the muscles along my spine were forced to actually support me because of the way that this chair positions your hips. I had to ease into it. By day 3, I noticed a huge improvement in my back pain! After a couple weeks, I saw my massage therapist, and she remarked as well that my lower back wasn't nearly as bad as usual. In addition to making you sit up straight and training your spinal muscles, it also prevents you from crossing your legs and putting knots in your glutes. The only con is that it sits somewhat high, and sometimes I have to go back to the sad other stool for certain tattoos so that I'm not doubled over. My feet sit flat on the ground, but I'm 5'6", so I imagine if you're a bit shorter, this would be uncomfortable! If your feet don't reach the floor, your legs will start to fall asleep. Overall though, I'd recommend this chair! I use it 8 hours a day, 4 days a week, and I've had it for roughly a year now. ... show more

As a dental hygienist, ergonomics are so vital for a long career. I’ve heard about saddle stools for a while and decided to give them a try. After trying some of the other saddle stools sold on Amazon and disliking them, I finally found this one and gave it a go. Easy to say, this saddle stool is perfect. The quality of the stool is top notch and the stool itself is very comfortable for working on patients all day. Even the dentist I work for now wants one as well!
