This unit is fine for a small, low priced combo box. The biggest drawback is that there is no display for the radio tuner. You have no idea when playing the radio if you are on AM or FM or what channel you are receiving. Very disappointing. As noted in other reviews the buttons for control of the tape deck and CD player are in awkward positions. Tape player controls are on top which is where the CD player is; CD controls are on the front which is where the tape deck is located. ... show more

You have to open the cd cover manually which eventually will brake and it's hard to take out the cd once you've put it in. You can not see which button is which because all buttons are in black. And the sound is loud but does not sound clear. The radio I got made and popping scratching noise whenever I used the cassette player. I do not recommend this. ... show more

My workshop was definitely missing something when my old boom box had its last day. After quite a search, I decided on GPX. It fits my needs! The ambiance is back, the sound is good enough for me and the price was a-okay. I can even play some of my ancient tapes, which is a bonus. I recommend this choice for such a purpose as mine. Works, but very cheaply made. Poor sound quality. Does not support headphones or plug in speakers, so you are stuck with the built in speakers. Control buttons are all manual and difficult to read.
