I've had a few cheap drones in my time so I expected this to be the same. This is much better. I am a novice so I'm not very good at flying them but this thing is very easy to fly. Once you follow the instructions on how to calibrate everything. It takes about 30 seconds maybe at most to do but it's not something you want to skip. After you do that you simply unlock the drone by pulling the sticks down and outward and then hit the takeoff button and it'll go up about 4 ft and hover and it's time to start flying. My yard is about half an acre so it's not really large and I do have a lot of trees so first thing I did after I got comfortable was take it up above the tree line so not to worry about smacking into trees. And I took it up about 100m. I don't know how to use all the functions yet cuz it does do a lot but what I have learned to use is the automatic takeoff button and the return home button which is awesome cuz it comes right back to where you took off from no matter where it's at. Kind of makes you feel dumb though because when you hit that button it does some maneuvering to get back to where it needs to be and quite quickly where I still have the speed down pretty low so everything I do is in slow motion. Only negative is the video. The app is most definitely Chinese and it behaves that way. The connects to the app with Wi-Fi which means I have to shut off my Wi-Fi to my house in order to connect it to the drone if I'm at home. Also it's a little intermittent as I said earlier once I got up about 100 m it disconnected and I did not have any active video anymore. Video is choppy and definitely not high definition. I tried to take some pictures but haven't quite got that yet. I think the drone disconnected from my phone when I was trying to take the pictures so I didn't get any or I haven't got them saved to the right area. All in all I'd say it's a great deal for the money. It does a lot of stuff and as much easier to use than other drones I've had for even more money. So I would definitely say it's good first drone or just to get the hang of it. Now I definitely do want to get a bigger and better one. And the biggest negative of it is the app to connect your phone to it for video is pretty much useless half of the time.

Technology on these small drones just keeps improving for the price point. This drone is actually pretty hefty for the size. Which is a good thing when using outside. I previously had an old one that used the paper thin plastic, the screen streamed to a "Fruit" phone 4 that was new at the time, and if a gust caught it a 1/4" mile distance was easy. Luckily was next to cattle pasture. This one doesn't seem to be as easily wind blown. Easy to set up and use. Has features commiserate with more expensive drones. I plan to use it for looking at a barn roof that has a leak somewhere. Nice introduction drone to get used to the features. About the only thing I could see limiting is the range. Which is probably due to regulations so can't comment. Negative is if used close to anything I do miss the prop guards that used to be around. Even a clip on option so it folds into the nice carry case would be a plus. Couple trials indoors when it came in. Blame my impatience. And wall strikes have tweaked the prop ends a bit and even after dropping to the floor have had one or two blades continue to run even while striking a cardboard box. Price point looks to be on par with market. One of the better run times in the price class. And two batteries is nice with the 2 hour charge time.
