I just had a big house remodel done, so I had to re-hang my curtains, hang three robe hooks, mount a toilet paper roll holder, etc. This laser level made that job so easy, and it all came out perfectly! In case you are new to these laser levels, you do have to have the device at the same height as the thing you’re trying to level. So for my curtains, I had to get the device up to about 84”. The tripod included doesn’t go that high, of course. Initially, I thought I would need a taller tripod, but then it dawned on me that I could just put the tripod on top of my dining room table, and it worked perfectly. For the robe hooks, I needed to mount three in a row at the exact same height. If it were just two, the height wouldn’t be super critical, but with three in a row, any deviation will look really obvious. Again, I had to get the device up to the height of the robe hooks (about 75 inches or so), and this time I didn’t have a big dining room table to put the tripod on. But, since each of the legs of the tripod is independently adjustable, I was able to put the tripod on the bathroom counter with one of the legs in the sink, and still got it leveled out. The results are absolutely freaking perfect. This is one of those tools you’re going to use and then annoy the crap out of everybody for the next couple of days because you won’t be able to stop telling them how cool it is. It’s so worth it.

Not the easiest to use outside. There should be a level indicator on top of the unit as once its installed on the tripod, the level indicator on the tripod is covered. Double check your level lines with an actual level to make sure it didnt move. I used it to set the grade for a garage build where I have 3 feet of elevation change from 1 end to the other.
