This was a gift for my 8 year old, who wants to be a fashion designer when she grows up. Mind you, I don't know how to sew, so we had to learn together. This is more of a cheap, portable machine for small projects than it is for beginners who really want to learn and do well with projects. I had to find youtubes because the directions weren't incredibly clear. And the bobbin winder was junk. We managed to make a pillowcase and a cat bed, but then I thought - if she wants to learn and be excited about things she needs an upgrade. So we did. To a Brother machine. Much better. ... show more

The first one appeared to be used. The second one worked for about 3 stitches and locked up. Don't bother.
