PROS 1. Gateway device is a wall outlet plug-in unlike some other products that need charger. Very compact with clearly visible LED and button accessible from the front. 2. Temperature / humidity sensors are very compact. 3. Setup as per manual. First phone to gateway on Bluetooth. Then gateway Wi-Fi setup next. Then each sensor add to gateway as a sub-device. Pairing button requires taking off battery cover but it's a one time deal and that way button is hidden and avoiding accidental press. Wi-Fi controversy The Bluetooth vs Wi-Fi controversy in some comments. It's a common design. Sensors communicate with hub. Phone app can access hub through Bluetooth that seems to be preferred but if I disable my phone Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, I can still access hub via internet on cellular network. This behavior is no different than August smart lock and many other home automation. On Wi-Fi alone you may not be able to use all functionality, some settings changes perhaps. I have not fully tried because all I care is to be able to read temperature and humidity over internet. Jury is out on accuracy. Not easy to test it but if I get around it I will update this review. UPDATE: 1. Correction (addition) on communication between phone app and devices. I missed to say that is my WI-FI is turned OFF on the phone and my cellular network is OFF on the phone, which by the way would be a very extreme situation, phone app still can communicate with sensors over Bluetooth, as long as all are within Bluetooth signal range. It means, in properly setup hub and sensors, a sensor readout can be achieved through WI-FI connection to hub, cellular network through internet which gives a remote access and last but not least, direct phone to sensor over Bluetooth. Again, very common setup, identical to August smart lock with hub combo. 2. Calibration. How do I trust that temperature and humidity values are sensed and displayed correctly ? The only way to find out is to compare against proven, near industrial grade devices. I do not have access to some high precision measuring devices but have old Honeywell thermostat with batteries still in it but otherwise unplugged from the socket. I also have wall clock with temperature sensor and humidity sensor. I put wall clock on flat surface and away from any airflow in the house, then 3 Govee sensors on top of it and Honeywell thermostat on top of wall clock as well. All sensors that way were within inches from each other. After few hours, Govee sensors settled down, no readout change anymore and temperatures on reference devices and Govee sensors were within margin of error of 0.5F. Humidity values displayed by Govee sensors were a) off between sensors, barely within advertised 3% and b) 3% lower than reference wall clock. Wall clock is not an industrial humidity gauge and I only had one reference for humidity readouts so results should be taken with a grain of salt. My use case is fridge / freezer / medication cooling system temperature monitoring so I am good. If intended use is for humidity monitoring like cigar storage or similar, it is good idea to get hands on an industrial humidity monitor and calibrate Govee sensors. Each sensor in settings, has calibration function with simple slider that allows for a correction. Both for temperature and humidity monitoring. All things considered, I am very happy with the product. It does what it says, has good connectivity options, allows for remote monitoring, sensors are very compact and app is good enough to see fridge automated defrost cycle kicking in. You may also set thresholds for monitoring and notifications which in my case is extremally useful to know as medication needs to be chilled in very strict range.

I'm really, really happy with these sensors, so far — easy to recommend them: The data and app are excellent (I love that you get not only the relative humidity but also dewpoint), setup was pretty easy and painless, and the signal of the sensor/transmitters has been strong enough to meet my needs. I deployed all three sensors about a week ago to three rooms in three pretty-far-apart locations in my multi-story house where I'd had ongoing concerns about humidity. Two are in bedrooms on the same floor as my bluetooth-wifi gateway, one about 12 feet away and a second about 25 feet away. The third is nearly directly below, one story below beneath a stainless steel sink and adjacent to a dishwasher in a kitchen cabinet. Bluetooth connectivity/strength has been perfect — no problems whatsoever. I can't say how long battery life will be or whether the sensors will remain reliable (I've only had them a week) but I've never had more accurate humidity and temperature readings before. If these last a while, I feel the value for the money is absolutely outstanding.

I've only had these 5 days but they are fantastic! Easy to install (although the instruction booklet is somewhat lacking). I bought this because my thermostat doesn't have a battery backup and it went offline for 14 hours when I wasn't home. Upon return I walked into a very cold house and decided to get something that would alert me when either temperature or humidity go out of range. The app is GREAT! Easy installation, pair to the wifi, and set up devices. The devices are all smaller than I expected-- about the size of two fingers-- but that just makes them easy to place or hang anywhere. I also purchased two smart plugs which I'm using to set up schedules to turn on/ off lights. The app will support up to 10 devices. It provides a piece of mind to quickly know the temperature and humidity within the monitored rooms since I can access the app anytime. Each device also shows the battery level so you're not taken by surprise when it needs replaced and they use 2 standard AA batteries in each monitors I set values in the app to test the alert features and it works like a charm for both the phone and email notification. Govee offers other products that I'm considering since these work so well.

Good devices for the value

After an easy setup, they seemed to be working pretty well. But after comparing the readings to a manual humidity dial, I did have to adjust two of the sensors over 20% (they were reading way too low). But now they are working well.

Great for homes in extreme temperature areas!

We live in Las Vegas and installed a whole-home humidification system when we moved in 5 years ago because of the extremely low levels of humidity. This system helps keep wood furniture, steps, floors, etc. from cracking. We also have a wine room where the humidity needs to be maintained. I already owned the Govee temp/humidity displays so I could easily keep an eye on the temperature and humidity levels through the house (we have 4 different AC/humidity units) which allows me to quickly notice if there’s something wrong with one of the units, but when we travel I’m wasn’t able to monitor the system. The unit in the wine room went down when we were on vacation and the temp rose steadily for 3 days without us knowing. Luckily we came home soon enough to get the HVAC guy in to fix the problem, but I then bought these so I can get a notification to my phone no matter where I am in the world. I can then get our neighbor to let the HVAC repairman into the house and I don’t have to worry about it being 100 degrees anywhere in the house or garage when we get home. They work great and you can set a temp/humidity range for each sensor so that when it goes above or drops below that range it will send an alert to your phone. The app is easy to use and the readings are accurate. This would also be great to have if you live in say, MN and are afraid of your pipes freezing at your cabin up north, or in your home while on vacation.

Great for Peace of Mind to Check the Temps

I was having issues with my garage fridge so I bought this for peace of mind. I lost 2 rounds of frozen treats for the summer so it has already paid for itself. I just caught the temp rising again on the fridge. The one in the freezer does have issues staying connected but it eventually comes back on line. The fridge is wireless but it only gives me the setting, not the actual temp so this is handy. I bought a 3 pack so I could put one in my inside fridge because the door seems to not always close. I probably should get a 4th one for the freezer, the granddaughter doesn't always close the door when she gets her popsicle out for a treat.

I have this set up with Google Home. I use one thermometer each in my backyard and garage...setup was easy, I've never had connection issues with either, and they are WILDLY accurate. I've had them for 10 months now, and in the Govee app, they both still show 4/4 battery bars, so I have no complaints about battery life. They're about 15 feet from the hub and the hub is about 25 feet from the nearest WiFi point...never failed to stay connected. The backyard thermometer has easily survived a Midwest winter and summer...so has the garage one, but it's obviously not as exposed to the elements. The hygrometer is an added benefit, seeing humidity WITH temperature gives more of a picture of how it *feels* wherever the thermometer is. I recommend this for anyone considering it.
