The material on this blanket is super soft. The material is on the thinner side. It does not shed. I would have preferred it to be a little thicker. Not sure if that would interfere with the ability to heat or not. The blanket heats quickly and evenly. I washed it on a gentle cycle prior to use and it washed perfectly. It's definitely a "throw" size, great for snuggling up on the couch. This may sound weird, but the control device looks so outdated. You would think it would look more modern or sleek. While it definitely doesn't affect the performance of the blanket, it does look old lol. ... show more
