    • Perfect to protect my lawn
I hit close to 200 balls a day in the yard and that is a lot of divot when chipping, pitching, etc. I have a larger mat with just the "fairway" turf on it but it is a bigger problem to put it out and roll it up each day. (I don't leave them outside.) I also like to be able to practice fairway and rough shots. I don't use the twee box side much. Maybe when the other sides wear more, I might use it. After 3+ months, the mat is holding up fine after hitting more than 10,000 balls - conservative estimate. There is wear showing in the rough grass and I think that should be expected. The material is longer and hitting it constantly with wedges is going to pull some of the grass up. The fairway side show no wear at all. The only problem is that the mat moves a bit on each shot. I usually straighten it after 3 or four shots and sometimes more often. I tried putting some tees in front of it but the mat knocks them over or breaks them. I hit mostly chips and pitches with this mat but also a lot of full shots with 60 wedge through Attack wedge. I have hit some full shots with 6 irons and down with limited distance balls. Most of the shot are real balls. I have a shag bag with 80 balls and hit several for each practice. I would buy this model again when this one no longer serves its purpose. ... show more

I hit so many golf balls off my old mat that it finally had to be thrown in the trash. I went with go sports vs the hundreds of other choices on Amazon because I've been happy with prior purchases. After about two months of use folding the mat up to keep it out of the Phoenix sun the backing tore. Based on other reviews this may be a common issue. Go sports was great and sent me another one. If it separates I suppose I could use some gorilla tape to hold the backing together. Despite this it wouldn't keep me from buying the mat again if the quality of the turf holds up and the great customer service. ... show more

    • Great hitting mat
I take a light divot in real life and have hit at least 500 balls since buying this a week ago and the mat still looks new. The mat fits perfectly with the 1/2 inch foam padding and cheap outdoor carpet allows for the fairway pad to be even with your feet.

Good: The grass definitely mimics fairway and rough. I have a rapsodo setup behind my shots to check distances and there is easily a 5 yard loss in distance when hitting from the rough vs the fairway. It's super portable for when I want to put it away or move it around, folds up easy and folds out the same. In Between: As you can see in the picture the fairway portion is missing a bit of grass. According to my rapsodo I have hit just over 1000 shots. Although not all have been off the fairway portion, likely 750+ have been since I can't hit driver or woods in my garage with the ceiling height what it is. I wouldn't truly put this as a negative because for the price of $60, 750 shots and I can still hit around that area (even though it's getting bigger and bigger), seems like it's doing well. Just to compare vs the range, $10 for 80 balls, that's 12.5 buckets for $125 vs $60 for the mat. I have probably 300-400 more shots I can do on the fairway before it's unhittable, and then can move over to the rough area for quite a few more. That's minimally $175 worth of range balls I will have been able to hit in my garage and didn't even have to leave home. Seems like a pretty good overall for the price. Negatives: There are a couple, the mat does move when I hit and need to move it back into place so it's the right distance away from my Rapsodo. This isn't a huge deal and would be less so if I hit from the section where I would be using a tee. It's about every other shot depending on how much turf I catch on the swing. The second thing is the height. It sits about 3/8" off the ground, so to be true to being on a fairway, you are technically shortening your clubs by that, which can really throw someone off when they go to the real course and thin a lot of shots. The tee section is higher for obvious reasons and should only be used with a tee. I have placed a 4' x 6' horse barn mat to stand on next to it. It matches up flush with the mat and also gives a bit more traction than my normal garage floor. Plus if I put the ball close to the edge it still gives me a consistent contact. All in all I would definitely buy this again. I would probably opt for something that is fairway only, I mean, when do I ever hit in the rough? ;) ... show more

    • This mat was exactly what I needed. Good size and very sturdy.
This mat was exactly what I needed. I haven't used the deep grass yet for holding tees, but it looks like it will work well. I avoid leaving it outdoors when not in use to extend the life, and prevent UV wear.

    • Needs to sit on a hard surface!
These mats are good for back yard chipping and pitching. ( I live in the southern states and have a big back yard). But what most people don't understand is that they normally lay this on existing turf. Makes shots extra spongy and unrealistic.. To improve your game make sure to lay them on a piece of plywood, hard pan soil or concrete if you want the different lengths of turf to make a difference. ... show more
