  • Gives the room a nice soft light and privacy.
Size: 23.6" x 78.7" Color: White
The Gorilla Guard Two way Sun Blocking Privacy in White, is a very good product. I placed the covering over two narrow windows in our bedroom (as seen in pictures). The Covering comes with very good instructions. I would recommend to making sure your cutting blade is very sharp at the tip, this would help when trimming the covering around the window. How I applied, *Measured the window, cutting the covering piece to be about an inch longer and wider then the window. *Clean Window *Have a spray bottle of water with water and a drop of dish soap. Before you put the covering on you spray the window, so it will clean to the window and makes it easy to remove the air bubbles. *You will need a small soft Squeegee (not include) to help with removing the air and work the cover into corners. I used a Silicone dish scrapper. It was soft and flexible. *The covering has one side that has a clear plastic with cutting guide, which helps a lot to measure and cut. When ready to apply remove the clear plastic, This side with the clear plastic is the side you will place on the window. So make sure your careful with this side getting in contact with dust or dirt. It will cling to the covering. *Center the covering on the soap sprayed window. It will cling to the window. If you need to pull off, and recenter the covering you can do it a couple times. But, be careful not to make creases in the covering. *As you work on the bubbles from center to the edges using the soft squeegee, be prepare to start to trim the edges with an exacto knife (not included) You can use a razor blade making sure that it is sharp. Be patient with the bubble removing, and timing. Going to quick, the edge will not cut clean and leave jagged edges. This is not a darkening cover, but more of a privacy and sun blocking. Easy to use and if I want to redecorate it's easy to remove with out damaging the widow. It has given the room a soft light, which is what I wanted. I would recommend the Gorilla Guard covering if you are willing to be careful with the placing and cutting, to make it look good inside and outside. It took me about 30 minutes to do two windows 30" x 20" each. ... show more

  • Does more than you expect
Size: 17.5" x 118.1" Color: Black
I want to preface this by saying that I did not use it for its intended purpose. I do not have any windows that need to be fully or partially blacked out, but I do own fish tanks, so I actually got this to add on the back of some of my aquariums. Let me tell you, this stuff is amazing!! I can totally see this work FANTASTIC for windows. The static cling side is very shiny of course and truly non-sticky, it doesn't stick to itself but it will happily attach on glass (with some squeegee-ing!). But even there it can be easily lifted and re-adjusted. The other side has a slightly rough texture that makes it matte (but not abrasive, don't worry!) which I imagine would work out wonderfully, as it wouldn't have glare. So you could get a perfect blackout window without any reflection possibly bothering you! As for what I used it for: omg! Applying it was SO EASY, and while the instructions say to use soapy water to spray on first, I used plain water as I don't want a risk of detergents in or on my aquariums. But that didn't hurt it at all! It's also so nice and sturdy that while you scrape it flat (I used one of my big Cricut scrapers) it doesn't stretch or move. Cutting a portion off, applying it and trimming it with an xacto knife all was super easy and quick. I simply dried it off with some paper towels after and it was done. It attached perfectly flat with absolutely no air bubbles (which would be super unslightly on an aquarium!). Overall: I can absolutely recommend it. Whether you use it for its intended use, or you apply it elsewhere that is flat glass. It will do its job, and it will do it well! ... show more

  • Backing Sheet Has Good Marking Aids, but Watch the Measurements. Patterned Films Has Better Hide.
Size: 23.6" x 78.7" Color: Frosted
The Two-Way Sun Blocking Privacy Film (ASIN: B0CQ6BHMWC) is effective at adding privacy to a standard window. I needed to block the view from a neighbor’s son’s bedroom window overlooking our breakfast table. The backing of the film takes well the ink from a permanent marker and I was able to easily hand draw my initial cut lines. Note that the grid marked on the backing appears to be in inches, but it did not match any of the tape measures or rulers that I have on site, so use the same means of measuring in both places, the window and the film. Initial cutting of the film and removing of the backing went well. Applying the film to the clean window ran into a glitch almost immediately. Mini paint splatters from a previous wall painting, while not visible when washing the window, were very evident once the film was against the glass. In retrospect I should have gone over the window with a razor blade to remove them first. Once that was corrected, the film clung to the window well enough to work with. I had two issues working with the film. Using the sharpest break-blade hobby knives, I still found the final trimming to fit difficult, often leaving a ragged edge. Removing all of the bubbles by pushing them out to the edges was also challenging. I spent well over double the time I anticipated on this task. Often, I found a wet paper towel more effective for this than the recommended squeeze. The film is opaque, but it does not hide well. I can still see water droplets on the outside of the window for example. A film with more of a textured pattern would have a better hide effect. ... show more

  • Works... somewhat
Size: 23.6" x 78.7" Color: White
I have a skylight in a walk-in closet. In Southern California, the sun streaming through fades our clothes very quickly. I applied a layer of this film over the plexiglass skylight. First, to test the film, I put a strip over a piece of red cloth, partially covering the middle strip. Part was completely covered by cardboard and part completely uncovered. I left it outside, in the sun for a week. The results were less than perfect. I'd say the protection was about 50%. I have since applied a SECOND layer over the skylight. I hope that is enough. We'll see. I may apply a third layer. ... show more
