Much better than cheap plastic hose boxes that barely last a year. Tired of dealing with hard plastic handles and difficult crank mechanisms. This is so easy to roll up hoses (like butter!) and looks good. Not sure how much will use bottom tray but it’s what they had available to ship fast. Overall this hose reel is of good quality however there are a few things keeping it from being even better. I find that the handle is too short which causes me to bend over excessively when I push down on the handle to lift the front pads to move the reel. In order to move the cart you have to push down on the handle until the weight of the hose is above the wheels and this requires the handle to be parallel the the ground or about 12 inches from the floor. The female connectors on the supply hose has a strain relief/ grip aid (black plastic) which is not designed for the screw on part of the connector so it can not be used to help screw the hose onto the hose bib. It looks like the strain relief/ grip aid (black plastic) was made for another type of connector. This manufacturer also warns not to use aluminum hose connectors when connecting to this hose reel. I am seeing a lot of new hoses coming with aluminum connectors now days so make sure you get a compatible hose for this reel or buy an adapter. ... show more
