This thing fixes pretty much every problem I had with my old GoPro. Low light is actually useable. You have to switch to night mode for the best version of it but if the sun starts to dip while you're out it'll hold up WAY better than the 12/13. Also don't bother recording in 8k unless you really need to. 8k60 is a nice sales tag and it does work well but I just keep this on 4k for the quad bayer mode, that's what makes the lowlight work and where the real quality is on this camera. The burst 960fps is very cool but it can only record that at 8-bit and for 10 seconds. Try the 1440p 480fps mode, it's still plenty slow and you can record in 10-bit and max bitrate for as long as you want. Or at least as long as the battery lasts which is very good but these are still action cams so don't expect to go all day without a couple swaps. Sucks that a new generation of batteries comes with this right after the switch to Enduro but I can confirm the first gen enduro batteries do still work in the Mission 1 so thumbs up there. 4k 240fps is a dream, just plain beautiful. But the files get really big really fast. The video quality is awesome across the board but it's gonna come at a cost. The bitrate from this to the previous generation feels like it's more than double so you will absolutely need a big card and it better be fast. I'm using the 512gb Sandisk express with the gameplay branding on it and that's been working so far but maybe not officially supported. Works for me but ymmv. Overall I'm very happy with it. I find myself carrying it around with me everywhere because it's just been fun to find new things to film in slomo. Things get blurry if you get too close to things but if you have access to a 3d printer you can actually make one yourself with a macro front element and it works surprisingly well. The PrismFX one gets your REALLY close to your subjects and almost perfectly compensates for the fish eye weirdly enough. They'll probably release an official macro lens like they did for the 13 sometime down the road but for now this works surprisingly well. TL;DR - Good stuff. Great slomo. Very happy. I'm actually going outside and filming things for fun. Crazy.

Misleading marketing: photo quality far below what's promised I bought the Mission 1 Pro expecting the "professional-grade" quality GoPro advertises, but the photo quality is very poor. The camera has no autofocus or manual focus, with a minimum focus distance of about 60cm — in practice this means blurry photos in any close-up situation, even in good lighting. I tried adjusting several settings (ISO, noise reduction, sharpness) and the result doesn't improve, because it's a hardware limitation, not a settings issue. My old GoPro HERO9, a much simpler and cheaper model, takes much better and more consistent photos. Professional reviews (Gizmodo, TechRadar, Expert Reviews) confirm the same focus and image quality problems I experienced — this isn't an isolated case. GoPro's marketing promises "gallery-ready photos" and professional-level quality, but the real-world experience doesn't match that, which I consider misleading to consumers. I believe this gap between promise and delivery will likely hurt sales of this model significantly. I'm currently in talks with GoPro directly to try to exchange it for a HERO13 Black, since the Mission 1 Pro didn't meet my photography needs. If the exchange isn't possible, I plan to resell the camera for much less than I paid, since I can't recommend this product to anyone looking for photo quality

Amazing little camera. The competition is fierce in this space but GoPro reset the standard, something I wasn’t sure they could do given the last few models. I had the Ace Pro 2 which is a strong comp. I have the insta360 x4. The GoPro has just amazing specs. Unreal 4k frame rate, 8k if you use it. HD 480 & 960. That is just amazing. The form factor is good the under water depth rating is even higher. The Contacto door accessory is a huge improvement on charging and timelapse. There’s a lot of upside. The challenge is the price. The ace pro two is on sale now at half the cost and gives you 70 to 80% of the specs. If you don’t use the slow motion, you probably don’t take full advantage of the GoPro. But buying the ace pro two is buying and almost 2 year-old camera. The new ace pro three should launch within the next six months to a year. I’ve watched a ton of videos and comparisons. The GoPro seems to be leading in almost every spec. The DJI and ace pro two are close competitors. GoPro over the competition. It’s an American company that supports a lot of people who do content. I like the branding. And with the release of this camera, they have managed to surpass some very tough foreign competition at least for the time being Fun great camera, solid app.

Impressed and disappointed. GoPro, Kudos on finally upgrading your sensor and batteries. Now for the CONS - No 2.4Ghz wireless GoPro mic pairing, requires aftermarket battery door in order to use USB C with wireless GoPro mic dongle, batteries were getting stuck inside battery compartment due to the tabs (I had to push them in with a screwdriver), LUT can't be displayed on the screen when shooting GP-LOG2, EV ratio and ISO dont show on the selfie/ vlog monitor. This makes it hard to tell if exposure is correct. Reminder, this is a 700+ dollar camera after taxes. All of these things SHOULD have been addressed a LONG time ago (this is technically the 14th revision of a GoPro). Would I still buy it? Yes.. . if you need it for low light video but there are still SEVERAL things to improve. GoPro is dragging their heels here

I haven't gone through all the settings, but this thing is a Beast. Just from a few videos I shot, very impressive. And 8K! No I wont shoot video in 8K normally. It will fill up a flash card in a minute. But take a short 8K video for a few seconds and then grab a screenshot and zoom way in, no loss of image quality. Plenty of You Tube videos for tutorials. Very happy with this camera.

Honestly an amazing product but I think for the price point I could not justify keeping it. But if you’re someone who is going to be adding any type of slowmotion to your creative workflow than you do NOT want to skip on this. The video quality is top tier best performance was in bright lighting but low light performance was still great. Easy to use as always excluding exporting files which were a bit clunky when using the app. Water proof for the most part. Value for the money really depends on your use case scenarios but this is an amazing camera with a much better battery life than GoPro has ever had. It can also fast charge now. Might get it again down the road, but for now I just can’t see myself owning this for this price since I use a lot of Boca and most of my shots which this is not an option on this specific model. Sorry no pictures and videos were too large to attach to the review. Most pictures were of my family 😅

I do not recommend this camera at all. I'm not here to plug my channel, but im a full time social media person its how I make my money and gopros are a HUGE part of my work flow and Ive been utilizing different models for years. I purchased this camera thinking it would be an upgrade to my gopro hero 10 and it just not. Nothing ever seems to be in focus. The background is very soft and if you bring something semi close to the camera it's out of focus. Went out to film with it once, now the battery won't even remove from the camera so I'm shipping to gopro support for them to fix it. Beyond aggravating. Will be selling and and going back to the hero series or just moving on from gopro
