  • Better then the insta360 both in quality and support.
The stitching/blending isn't perfect but it's better then the blurred nonsense the insta360 gives. Also the insta360 won't activate if you don't have network access and is not useful at all without a cellphone as it cannot be manipulated on the pc in any way... Gopro has solved all of the insta360 cam problems, it connects and activates without the internet, you can save the videos to your pc and manipulate them on the gopro player and add the stabilization effects and such they tote. Downside, I can't get it to record a video longer than 8:02, I don't know if there's a setting or something to keep it from breaking my videos up in awkward increments. ... show more

  • Its The Best So Far
This is my sixth action camera, third GoPro, and second 360 camera. This is the best 360 so far. My previous was the Intra360 One Twin edition. Biggest issue I had with Intra360 One Twin edition is post production. I'm just not interested in doing on my phone so their other options are just not ready for serious users. I should have gone with the GoPro MAX originally. I've very pleased with all aspects at this point. Very interested to see it's longevity. ... show more

  • Great 360 Camera. Poor Form Factor.
The media could not be loaded. Fine 360 camera. I got this to use on my motorcycle to mount on the top of my helmet. I made a few virtual tours of the beach while riding along. First, the getting software. I had a bit of a faff with the GoPro Player app. Windows 10 Enterprise doesn't ship with Microsoft Store access. The Player is ONLY distributed via the Microsoft Store for Windows. This alone almost made me return the camera. There's no way to open the video files otherwise. There's a blog out there detailing how they dissected it but it is rather complicated. Eventually it came down to using some sketch 3rd party site to pull the .appx file from the Microsoft Store, then using Powershell to install it. Additionally, The GoPro Player requires an HEVC codec installed via the Microsoft Store, which once again, I don't have access to. Sketch 3rd party site and Powershell come in clutch once more. This most likely won't apply to most people out there. The software itself is fine. Not too self explanatory since everything is icons and not text. The "World Lock" (I call it North Lock) feature is at the software level, not the camera - Same with Auto Horizon. It can output videos in x264 and HEVC. I just use HEVC for everything now. The software doesn't have any kind of color controls or other fancy video editing features but I treat it more as a prep stage for further editing. I send it out to Da Vinci Resolve for everything else. The 360 video stitching is pretty bad. There is an obvious seam where the front and rear lenses meet. For nearby objects it is a granted but for a whole building across the street to be split in half. I heard the old GoPro Fusion had to be manually stitched but had perfect seams because of that. I've attached a video of some random truck I rode by. You can see as the video pans to the rear lens there is a massive wipe transition like some cheap karaoke DVD. The buildings in the distance suffer the same fate, but not nearly as bad as objects within arms reach. I honestly can't believe it's this bad. The camera itself. The touch screen is a bit small but I only had to use it all of once for initial setup. The OEM battery life is something like 2 hours with 5.6K@30 360 HEVC recording. Accepts 512GB MicroSD which is awesome. There's not much more to say beyond what's already said in the product description. Now the HUGE kicker for me is the form factor. This thing is -BIG-. The frontal cross section is 70mmx80mm, rounding up on both dimensions. Doesn't seem large but when you're on a motorcycle going a measly 65mph it tends to push the helmet up and back just slightly. When you're going 125mph the camera is basically a massive sail or downforce wing. It's attempting to yank the helmet off my head. It might actually be contributing to a loss of a few MPG, but I can't confirm that. What I can confirm is my neck hurting trying to keep my viewpoint straight. My best advice is to mount it sideways. It IS a 360 camera, after all, but remember what I said about the 360 stitch seams being horrible? If GoPro makes a successor to the Max I sure hope they fix the 360 stitch seams and the size of this thing. Haven't heard any news of a Max 2 on the horizon. Insta360's One RS 1-inch 360 Edition lookin' like a snack right now. Just waiting for a rock or a bird to hit the camera at 120mph. ... show more

  • Good video quality
I was not able to process the 360 degree video in my desktop computer. The post processing had to be done on my phone, which took hours of trial and error to figure out. In the end the videos captured from my airplane were spectacular.

This is a good product and feed design… except the battery life… I use this on the outside of a plane while flying and the battery does not last and hour

  • OK so far
It arrived on time. Packaging was fine. Took awhile to get it to pair with my phone app because I needed to go to android settings and accept the pairing (which apparently happens automatically most of the time in a pop-up, but didnt for me) and web tshooting instructions are non existent. Was about to return/refund before finally figuring it out. Will update review after getting some real videos. ... show more

  • Had to return because it needs a stronger computer to render
I attempted to use this camera in 360 mode. My computer was not powerful enough to render they video. So just a heads up, pay attention to computer specs to run the software. Don’t make my mistake.
