I've had this gopro stick for a few years now. I got it specifically for scuba diving - to have something long and easy to see/ grip underwater. I've gone on over 15 dives with this stick and it barely shows signs of wear. I don't have any worries of my gopro falling of when using this, it has a very secure design.     • Great pole, works well for diving
This pole worked very well for me when I took it Scuba diving in Hawaii. Its extremely sturdy and (so far at least, it hasnt been that long since) it has held up well to the saltwater abuse. Mind you I was very careful to clean it well with freshwater after every use. One thing to note is that when you extend the pole, the interior fills up with water so you need to work it in and out a few times fully submerged in fresh water to really clean it well. On the flip side, it makes an awesome water gun in a pool setting, lol. Extend it under water to fill it up, then point it at your victim and 'collapse it'. ;-) ... show more

This thing is solid and a tad on the heavy side but not to its detriment. I like the way this feels in my hand, it feels like $59.00 well spent. All the joints lock together snugly so when this thing is extended and locked into place you're not going to get any wobble or jarring in your footage and that is a major reason you would want to buy this. Pairing it with the swivel mount allows you more versatility for things like underwater shots while you sit in your kayak. Just get it! ... show more

I like the build quality of this product. It is certainly heavier than “off-brand” products but seems like a reliable piece of equipment, feeling very sturdy and substantial in the hand, and also adding a few inches or more of reach compared to other extension poles. I attached the Karma Grip to this pole and it held the Grip and camera at many different angles without incident. The extension pole allowed for some creative shots that I know I wouldn’t have gotten otherwise. Combined with the Karma Grip Gimbal, I was able to take some great “jib” shots and create the appearance of “drone” shots, where shooting with a drone may not have been legal or practical. The pole also allowed me to get shots well above the heads of other spectators, giving me a front row seat to the action. The extension pole also allowed me to get shots that would have otherwise been dangerous or impossible to obtain. My only complaint about the El Grande Extension Pole, is that I really wish there was a more solid locking function. Due to the weight of the Karma Gimble and Camera, the quarter-turn twist locking mechanism just unlocked too easily when rotating the camera, causing the pole to unexpectedly retract at times. While certainly not a deal breaker, I would prefer a mechanism that stays more easily locked. For folks into the Gopro ecosystem, I would recommend this project as a solid accessory. ... show more

I bought this extension pole after purchasing a GoPro Hero Black 7. My intentions are pretty simple - use it while hiking and snowboarding. I might update this review when I get a chance to use it in the wild. First impressions - it’s made really well. I needed something sturdy enough to survive the occasional drop or wipe out. I like the change in dimensions at the very bottom, it feels comfortable. The most underrated part of this piece is the rubber coating. I can already tell that grip won’t be an issue. I recommend spending the extra money on quality by buying the El Grande. ... show more

    • Easily the best pole for GoPro cameras
This is a very solid pole. It's much more substantial than just about any other pole out there for the GoPro. This means it is slightly heavier than others but also much, much sturdier. If you have the Karma Grip then this pole is strong enough to hold it. Even without the Karma Grip however I believe this is the pole to get. I have multiple Smatree and other brand poles but none of them feel as solid as this one does. I also like that it uses the GoPro quick release mount rather than the screw mount, which makes for faster mounting/dismounting of my GoPro. ... show more
