  • Pricey, but quite useful overall selfie-stick.
Style: Grip Only
This is a great accessory: it's basically a tripod and "selfie stick" built into one, with the tripod legs cleverly hidden inside the handheld shaft (twist and pull out, then screw it back in "reversed" with the legs out)! The product itself is made of rather decent quality plastic, and the handle has a rubberized layer for grip. Screws will tighten enough to not "give" or rattle when you're swinging this arm around (like panning around yourself Matrix-style), and it's light enough to easily handle with one hand and the weight of the GoPro on the far end. The two joints roughly every third of the way (when extended) have good range of motion, but WARNING that you'll have to play around with it to really understand how to adjust it for your various grips (e.g., shooting forward but low-to-ground, shooting yourself from low-to-ground position, standard "selfie stick" position, folded back on itself in a U-shape so the camera is basically hanging under your hand, etc.) The reason is that the joints do not fold back on themselves in BOTH directions. Seems like an obvious statement, but the impact is that in some situations you'll need to mount the GoPro in one direction, and in some situations the opposite way (meaning you have to stop, take it off, put it back on backwards, then re-adjust all the stick joints. Overall, it's a great stick, and I would have given it a full 5 stars if the damned thing weren't so pricey (roughly $60US)!! ... show more

  • Great quality GoPro selfie stick, even in mineral-rich water!
Style: Grip Only
We bought a GoPro for a trip through Iceland and purchased this for it, mostly to take selfies. We needed something that was good quality and could withstand some abuse because we knew we'd be taking it to and submerging it in the Blue Lagoon, a geothermally-heated natural pool with a very high silica content. We floated and soaked and took gratuitous photos and video of ourselves all day using this and it came out no worse for wear, once we wiped off the white silica residue after it had dried out. The angle points let you configure this so you can hold it and film yourself without your arm being overtly outstretched in the shot, as is typical in most selfies. This was a big plus for us as it made our video look more natural. The knobs also tighten down very well, we used this to shoot a whale watching trip on a speedboat racing across heavy swells and the arms never collapsed. The little tripod on the bottom was hard to separate from it's screw-in holster without feeling like we were about to break it when we tried to pull it off, and be aware that if you adjust the arms or leave any flex in the collapsed grip while you're recording with your GoPro (especially if it's in the completely-enclosed water proof case), you will hear the joints creaking in the video playback. This isn't a fault in the product, that's just the nature of vibration. If you're going to use this and need the cleanest possible audio, either tighten the knobs down REALLY TIGHTLY or buy something more professionally-focused. ... show more

  • Add another dimension to your go pro
Style: Grip Only
A very nice and versatile tool. The handle has a rubberized grip (base) and two arms. The base and two extensions that can used in any configuration with you go pro on the end. The assembly is made of plastic and has unique locking nuts which could have been similar to the standard locking nuts for interchangeability. there is also a convenient locking mechanism to prevent it from folding over on to your fingers which i thought is cool. The tripod portion is screwed in to the main handle and slides to be screwed back in with the legs facing outwards. The tripod is the flimsiest part of the arm. It could have been more sturdier if the tripod legs were gusseted (even plastic gussets would have added to its strudiness). I will note that it will not carry anymore weight than a go pro without risking possible damage. The other comments about it being flimsy, i believe, are a little over exaggerated. Yes, it could be a little more sturdy, but it is definitely not flimsy. It would have been nice if it was made out of aluminum. I love the versatility of the different configurations and the tripod idea is amazing. It should last a while if not severely abused. I like it. ... show more

  • Robust and adventurous, yet needs delicate placement for tripod
Style: Grip Only
Pros: - Can get different angles of shooting - Very rigid, feels unbreakable. I was skeptical when I first bought this, since it was made of plastic. However, it definitely feels as rigid and firm as a metal frame, doesn't seem breakable. - Can use as a chest "mount", very stable footage - Rubber grip is nonslip (holding it 1 handed and switching was no problem when tandem paragliding) Cons: - The tripod itself can handle significant weight, but only when on a flat surface. Anything other than the parallel to a flat ground will cause it to warp a bit - Over time, screws are much looser, and I haven't seen a replacement tripod mount for it if a leg breaks? - With strong winds (ex. timelapses on a mountain), the camera will shake a big, but will not ruin timelapses (Great job on GoPro's end) - Top heavy (meaning it's center of mass is not directly in line with the base, so in full extension, you will need to tilt the camera OR angle the joints so that the center of mass lies directly over the center of the base. This means it's almost impossible to get a full extension for a shot without hands. ... show more
