Great quality, no instructions needed and what a great value! First outing was a portable setup doing a “Parks on the Air” activation and my reception was nothing but fantastic. I was getting great signal reports from most stations. I constructed an inverted V dipole for 40 meters and operated on 7.266MHz and had 40 contacts in the first 20 minutes. This was straight out of the package to the tree I hoisted it up in. Great product and I’m satisfied with it. I’ll have to kit me some different length wires for other bands and this will be a perfect addition to my portable setup arsenal.

seems to work, but has a "design flaw". If you look at similar ones, they have a bolt with a loop on the left and right side for the wire to connect. I did not realize until I was trouble shooting my first 80 meter dipole that was missing. The two wing nuts on the side, do not have loops to attach the wire to take the stress of the tension on the wire. With an 80 meter dipole, you will be putting a lot of stress to tension so much wire. Instead, I connected them to the top loop, and then attached the end to the wingnut connectors. Well, that leaves your two wires of the dipoles touching at the top. Now, I used some zip ties to isolate them, but could have been better.

I made a 20 meter antenna using this Balun and it worked out great. I calculated the wire length and used lamp cord for the project. The antenna had an SWR 1.2:1 and I had several QSOs that were five nine and clear modulation. This Balun is something that I would recommend

I received a defective 1:1 Balun. I tested the item with an ohmmeter, and it failed; there was "continuity" aka "short" between the two wing nut terminals and also between the center conductor of the SO239 and its outside sleeve. This should not happen. I returned the item for a full refund.
