For the past 3 years or so every summer in Arizona we would have fly problems. We tried the plug in, window stickers. Until this year we try this bug zapper. It works so well I am starting to believe the flies are talking to eachother and saying dont go inside there home no more haha seriously I come home from work and I can eat at the dinner table without having to bring my fan to keep flies away from peacefully eating. This is the best thing I have every bought for flies. We have 2 dogs, 1 inside, 1 outside and my neighbor has dogs and I believe these flies come from all. But not any more. TLDR; A highly effective, chemical-free solution for immediately eliminating nuisance flying insects like moths, flies, and gnats over a large area (up to 1/2 acre). It’s low-maintenance and built with safety in mind. While excellent for general flying pests, its effectiveness against biting mosquitoes is limited. A solid buy for managing patio pests. I bought the GOOTOP Bug Zapper because my patio evenings were constantly ruined by dive-bombing moths and annoying houseflies, especially during our evening cookouts. I was also hoping to tackle the mosquito problem. Its promise of a 4200V electric grid, 1/2 acre coverage, and simple 3-prong plug installation convinced me. My initial thoughts were that any reduction in flying pests would be worth the cost. For larger, light-attracted insects, this device delivers a satisfying, instant result. Detailing the Experience and Analysis This zapper is an absolute beast when it comes to flies, moths, and other nocturnal insects attracted to UV light. Almost immediately after plugging it in at dusk, the "zaps" started—and they were frequent. It provides incredible, visible results against a wide range of nuisance flyers, making our immediate patio area much more comfortable by eliminating the biggest, most irritating bugs. It’s built with durable ABS plastic and features an anti-shock cage, making it safe to use around my family. The hang-ring makes placement easy, though you will need an extension cord since the attached cord is relatively short. The coverage area seems accurately large, as I placed it about 25 feet from our main seating area, and it successfully lured the pests away from us. Cleanup is simple: the dead insects fall into a removable tray, which you can brush clean. The bulb is also easily replaceable, ensuring long-term utility. A note on Mosquitoes: While the product is marketed for mosquitoes, traditional bug zappers are generally less effective against them because mosquitoes are primarily attracted to carbon dioxide and body heat, not UV light. I noticed a much higher kill count of moths and beetles than actual biting mosquitoes. plugged this in before our cookout and within like 20 minutes there were way fewer moths and flies buzzing around us which was awesome. the zapping sounds kind of satisfying not gonna lie and cleanup is super easy with the little tray underneath. just know it works best on moths and flies rather than mosquitoes since those are attracted to CO2 not UV light, so set your expectations accordingly.

Setup couldn’t be easier — plug it in and you’re done. Within the first night on my patio, I could already hear it doing its job. The 4200V grid is powerful enough to take care of flies, moths, and other flying insects instantly. It’s actually pretty satisfying knowing it’s working without needing sprays or chemicals.

I bought this bug zapper for outdoor use and I’m honestly impressed. It starts working right away and attracts a lot of mosquitoes and bugs, especially at night. The light is bright enough to do the job without being annoying. It’s very easy to set up—just plug it in and you’re good to go. I’ve been using it on my patio and it has made a noticeable difference. Way fewer mosquitoes bothering us while sitting outside. The build feels solid and durable, which is important since it’s meant for outdoor use. Cleaning is also pretty simple. Overall, great value for the price. I would definitely recommend it if you’re dealing with bugs outside!
