  • Greatly extends range without hurting speed or signal but place carefully
The first thing you need to know about these is that you should turn wifi off if you have an integrated modem/router. The reason is that the wifi coming from your modem can interfere with the extender but this hasn't been an issue for me. Each one comes with a CAT6 cable and are 2.4 and 5GHz capable. This one is a single node that I added to my 3-pack. You need to plan out how you're going to place these for optimum coverage and bandwidth. The initial one connects directly to your modem and then sends the signal out to every other node. I have a decently sized house with 3 floors and a detached garage with a finished second story where my office is. So I have my first node close to my router very close to my wall that faces by detached garage. The second is also on the same ground floor but a little bit further than halfway to the front door which is right about below my master bedroom. The third one sits on the ground in the closet of my master bedroom and the last one is naturally placed but as close to the wall facing my house as possible. In the Google Home app you can run a test when you select the main node (the one that's connected to your modem with the cable) that tests the connection of all the Nest Wifi nodes on your network. All the ones that matter to me have great connections but the master bedroom one only has a "good" connection. I'll need to probably move that one slightly around the room somewhere but it's not a big deal so far. Before getting these I had dead spots on my second floor and almost no wifi on my third floor. Now I might as well be next to my router just about anywhere in my house including my garage. I can't lose my wifi signal until I get into the middle of the street across from my house and even then there's spots where it'll connect still. I got full coverage from my cellar to the first, second, and third floor plus the entire garage. A trick for connecting devices that only work with 2.4GHz devices (since these don't let you disable 5G temporarily), is to move to the edges of your coverage where you start losing bars and you'll likely be connected on the 2.4GHz channel. Overall I have 4 of these in my 2800sqft house and it works great. ... show more

  • Easy pairing, now I enjoy hd streaming in the garage
I originally got the 2nd gen version to add on to my gen 1 mesh but it wasn't handing over well and the split ghz wasn't allowing devices to find it correctly. This gen 1 seems more effective. The 4th point helps get enough signal to stream HD on the smart TV in the back of the garage.

  • Easy to set up with the app
Setting it up was easy! The range works so well! Love having access to the app! Highly recommended! I have one outside. Just make sure it’s protected from the rain and it’ll work well!

  • Great Budget Option Despite Wi-Fi 5 Limitation
Although this model only supports 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5), most home internet connections still cannot fully utilize its maximum speed. It is a good option for anyone looking for a bargain.

  • Not the best, but OK for the money
I bought this because I wanted a router that wasn’t too expensive or a large eyesore to look at with a bunch of antennas. Super easy set up right out of the box, I like that Google’s products are all integrated in one Home app. I can pull up my router’s information anytime, even when I’m not at home. I am a bit disappointed with the up/download speed. It accommodates streaming 1 video and some basic email checking. Works okay if I don’t need to do much, but I did purchase the Deco TP Link router to see if that one works any better in the same price range. Maybe this Nest Wifi is so slow because it is refurbished, but it does work out as long as you aren’t a video game streamer or need the WiFi for frequent zoom calls. 4 stars because it does what it is supposed to do. -1 star for slow performance. ... show more

  • Works great
Easy to such up with existing system. I had bought a refurbished one, but returned it for a new one. Refurbished would not sync.

  • Renewed Google WiFi needs power cable
I received the Google WiFi point fast from CellEllectronix (Amazon Renewed provider). That was great. However it failed to power on when plugged in. Initially I thought it broken and was going to return it, but then I tried it with another Google WiFi power cable I have (I have other Google WiFi m points) and it worked! So I emailed CellEllectonix requesting a new power cable. That was two days ago and I have not heard back yet. When I hear from them I’ll update this review as needed. Amazon has been great so I’m sure they’ll make it right. UPDATE 1: they responded stating they would send a new cord. I’ll update again over received UPDATE 2: new cord and power block received. All is working as expected! Thank you! ... show more
