I've been putting off buying new ear buds for a while, but my old Bose QuietControl 30 earbuds (bought in 2019 and until recently, worn every day since then) are showing their age and a lot of wear. After much deliberation I pulled the trigger on a set of Pixel Buds Pro 2, since I already own a Pixel 7 Pro, and I am NOT disappointed. Not only is the sound quality on par with (and in some cases like handling heavy bass, better) the Bose earbuds, the fit and comfort is better, and the lack of a neck yoke is amazing. On sound quality, at the default EQ setting the Pixel Buds produce clear, balanced audio with crisp highs, balanced midrange and punchy but not overwhelming bass. On the "Heavy Bass" EQ setting, they produce even punchier bass, without sacrificing the highs and mids (Unlike the QC30 which just lowered the volume of everything else on a hard bass hit to avoid distortion) The Pixel Buds also don't seem to show any signs of distortion even at uncomfortably high volumes. Call sound quality is also REALLY good. I can hear the other party clearly, and the ANC keeps outside noises out of both my ears and the outgoing call audio, which is also clear and easy to understand for the other party. The gestural controls on the buds were super easy to get used to (as opposed to the physical buttons on the QC30) and the automatic conversation mode seems to work pretty well, automatically pausing the music and turning on Transparency Mode when I start talking. They were super easy to pair with my Windows Desktop as well, and most all of the gestural controls are supported by Windows, though I wish they supported multipoint pairing so that I could use them with both my phone and computer simultaneously. The case for them is my only other gripe. Its rounded shape and silky smooth finish make it kind of hard to keep ahold of for me, and I'm sure I'm going to lose it or one of the earbuds at some point. Hopefully the Find My Device network holds up enough for me to recover them if that happens. All in all, I think that the price is a little high, but they are overall worth it. We'll see how the ANC and listening time holds up for them. And overall durability, though I won't be using them as much as I did the QC30, which I was wearing every day at work for 8-10 hours per day as I used to work in an industrial manufacturing facility and there was a large compressor and tools running all the time. ... show more

I'm very pleased with these Pro 2 buds. This is my first Pixel Buds purchase, so I can't speak to how "better" these are compared with earlier models. What I can say is that they have been performing very well for me. The fit is comfortable and I've had zero issues with these falling out during a workout. Unlike other buds I've used in the past, these hit an excellent balance between comfort and staying put. I'm using these with a Pixel 8 Pro and have had zero glitches in terms of connecting or controls. The control panel is easy to use and provides a lot of functionality. The equalizer function is especially useful not only for overall sound quality, but also to tweak things so that, for example, dialog on a movie or podcast is more pronounced and clear. I'm sure there are buds that surpass this with regard to pure sound quality, but to my ears, the sound quality is excellent, especially with the noise cancellation turned on. The touch controls work well. I did have a little learning curve to get comfortable with the touch controls, but after the first day I've not had any issues or problems. These are amazing! I have had Bose earbuds and Beats ear buds and these are far more superior than those. The sound quality is phenomenal, they are so comfortable that you forget that they are there (issue with this is I have fallen asleep with them in lol), the distance from your phone is incredible, you can talk into them without your phone being right there and ask it to do things like play music, call so in so. When you want to text so I so and it does it and reads aloud what you want said before sending it and it is incredibly accurate. The one tiny issue I had with them at first is that they would randomly fall out of my ear. It comes with four different sizes of ear plugs. Once I tried them all on, I found the perfect fit for me and I do not this issue anymore. I wear them and clean the house with music playing for hours. Which brings me to the battery life. The battery life of the earbuds is amazing as well, I literally start wearing them around 6 am and wear them until 1130 am and wear them from 1215 pm until 8 pm, and they last the entire day. The battery charging pack lasts for days. The nice thing is that it alerts me on phone every time I initially put them in my ear how charged each bus is and the case.
