I purchased this Nest device to replace my existing programmable thermostat. This was an Amazon renewed item and as such I knew that it may not have all the OEM items. It arrived without printed instructions, but if you have installed one thermostat you have basically installed them all. I also got the back plate for it. Took about 10 minutes to install and have the thermostat integrated onto my WiFi. Just for giggles I went online and took a look at the instructions. They are by far the best and most complete set of directions I have seen in a long time. Thats why the 5 stars on Tech Support. Not a real fan of the mirrored finish, buy cheap and you don't get to pick. Works very well on the Home App, not so much on the touch controls. I purchased this item knowing that it was a renewed item. However, what I purchased was a unit not ready for resale. It was missing the batteries that were supposed to be included. I could tell that this unit was used. This wasn't worth what I paid for it.

Shocked how bad this is. Nest used to be a cutting edge beautifully designed product company. This is a cheap parody. And you must use the Google home app that assumes you want to control a whole home and share everything with Google. Designed by kids with no concept of ergonomics

I have tried everything to get this ridiculous thermostat to stop changing the temperature. It will stay put for a couple days then drop the temp way down. I have never set it to do this, it is just doing it on it's own. We went out of town and turned the temp way up so we didn't have to pay for the electricity but came back to a freezing cold house. Looking at our daily usage it shows it was off for only two days of the 7 days we were gone, so annoying! I would stay away from this junk. ... show more

These "renewed" thermostats work great. I'm not even sure that they were ever actually used to begin with. The box had obviously been opened but a lot of the individual parts (plastic coverings, batteries, screws, etc) were in their factory state. Since they were "renewed", they were much cheaper but still work as if they were factory new. ... show more
