    • Fit my short, thick legs
I'm 5' 11", but I have a long torso and my legs are only 30". Shorts that would be at or slightly above the knee for most fall an inch or more below my knees. Current styles seem to favor a longer inseam and that makes finding shorts that fit off the rack nearly impossible. I also have pretty thick, muscular legs. These are light and airy shorts. The material is soft and super comfortable, but probably trading comfort for long term durability. These are probably not good active shorts. Casual hikes and bike rides are fine, but more than that will likely wear them out quickly. These shorts fit me perfectly. I'm a size 34 but went for a 36 because when wearing shorts I like the extra looseness and space. A 34 would be more form fitting but really shows objects in pockets (such as a wallet). The lightweight material does very little to mask pocket contents so these aren't good shorts to stuff with items or you'll quickly get a "chipmunk" look. The pockets are roomy and deep. Perfect for my cell phone and thin clip wallet. I have a fair amount of keys (2 car key fobs and around 10 regular keys), and these shorts don't like them. The soft material allows the keys to jab me in the thigh. I usually un-clip my car keyfob and leave the rest of the keys in my car if I'm out and about. Bottom line, the pockets are roomy and capable, but ideally, you want to carry as few items as possible in them. That might be a negative for some, but I really prioritize fit and looks for these shorts, not utility. I've never, ever gotten a compliment on shorts, but I did with these. And I'm pretty sure it was less the shorts, but the fact that I was finally wearing some that actually fit my weird body and showed off my legs better. It was odd wearing them at first, because having worn too-long shorts for so long, combined with the lightweight feeling of these shorts, I felt oddly exposed. Like I was in my underwear! I really like these "Goodthreads Mens Slim-Fit 7" Flat-Front Comfort Stretch Chino Shorts". I've ordered 9 in different colors over the last year. They fit as expected and look great on slim physiques like mine, the only issue I have is that after washing most of them, the leg hems wrinkle and curl and require heavy ironing to flatten them out again (curiously the only ones that don't have this problem are both green: camo green and dark green). So I've unsewn the leg hems and added strips of 3/4" braided elastic on the front and rear leg hems. Problem solved! I can now "wash and wear" them without having to iron the leg hems first. ... show more

Super good fit and fine quality, no worse than you'd get anywhere like at Target. The hem is stylish length and it fits perfectly at my usual size. Only complaint is it is super super wrinkle-prone. Could probably steam them out but I don't mind that much.

    • Great shorts! Needs a media pocket
These are some of the best shorts I have ever purchased "sight unseen" ("fit untried?"). As described, they fit perfectly based on the size recommendations, though some may find them on the slightly more snug or maybe just "European" cut. The 7-inch inseam was one the biggest motivators for getting these shorts since they stay above the knee and don't interfere with activities. They almost feel like diver or safari shorts. The only downsides I see are that the material is basically just fashionable material and not designed for extensive, outdoor use, likely fading and wearing down with time more quickly than, say, Dockers. If they were 100% cotton or some sort of cotton blend that strengthens them rather than gives them stretch (ripstop of these would be ideal), I would give these shorts 5 stars. I would also like to point out how primitive it feels to go from a short like the Dockers "The Perfect Short" (D3) to these when the Dockers have a media pocket on the right side for a cell phone. I honestly do not understand how clothing companies can justify NOT adding media pockets to their clothing, but what do I know? If these shorts had a media pocket (and they really should have one!), I would likewise give it a 5 out of 5. As it stands, I may buy another pair of these shorts again, but I more likely to simply continue using Dockers' "Perfect Short" and simply have them hemmed to my desired length. PUT A MEDIA POCKET ON IT! ... show more

These fit well for the size I bought, and I like the length of the shorts (Above the knee). The only downside I found was the thickness of the fabric, they are thin and wrinkle easily.

Hey, I have short legs. Trying to find decent, casual shorts that don't hang to my knees and bag out three inches on each side has been a challenge the last several years. I like the shorter (not weirdly so) inseam and less bagginess of these shorts. They're also light, so maybe not super-durable, but only time will tell on that. Great pair of shorts! Very comfy and have a good amount of stretch. Bought them in black and tan and the colors and cut came as expected. Both pairs washed well and look as new! Great value for the price and overall amazing purchase!
