I ordered this for my 9 year old son who plays baseball. This was easy to set up in our backyard. The frame is sturdy enough so that it doesn’t tip over. My son uses this to practice hitting and pitching baseballs. This prevents the balls from flying into the neighbors’ yards. This folds down compactly for storage. This is an absolutely awesome product. My son thinks it’s so cool we have a huge net in the yard for him to practice throwing and hitting, without worrying about hitting something, or the ball flying into a neighbor’s yard. Even though it’s primarily for baseball, the net is sturdy enough and large enough to that it functions well for other sports. It took a bit of time to put together, it’s really figuring out what goes where, but it’s not terribly complicated. Our son is a high school lacrosse player, and if you’ve ever watched lacrosse (or baseball, softball, even hockey), you know how quickly balls can disappear—one bad bounce and poof, it’s under the only bush or fence in the yard, gone. This net has been a lifesaver for us and is now one of several backstops we keep around to protect against the “neverland” where balls vanish. The size (10 x 8 ft) is perfect—big enough to catch most of the wild ones without taking over the whole backyard. Setup is straightforward and doesn’t take long at all; within about 10 minutes, it’s ready to use. The carry bag is a nice bonus, making it easy to store or take along to a field. What we really appreciate is its versatility. While it’s designed for baseball and softball, it’s just as useful for lacrosse practice, and I can easily see it being handy for hockey pucks on the driveway or street or other sports too. It feels sturdy once set up, and the netting is tough enough to take repeated shots without showing wear. Regardless of the sport we are playing in the back yard, this net is perfect. It prevents balls from hitting the house if my son is practicing his pitching, and it keeps balls from going out of the yard if he is practicing his hitting or if he's kicking soccer balls or footballs.
