Our cat decided that my bed was where she wanted to make their home for the next couple weeks, so I needed a way to make sure the kitten wouldn't fall off my bed!! This ended up being MUCH better than I was expecting!! I keep the top opened so she can sit up if she wants to & I love that one of the long sides has a zipper for mommy to get in and out of ..& its high enough that he cant escape yet... unless momma is laying on my bed in front of it and her leg or something is holding the netting down. So far its only happened once tho and the kitten went straight in to eat lol. Plus when its time for him to get fixed and shots I have a new carrier that can be used as a book bag, which I think is super awesome!! Deff recommend for smallish cats... it isnt very tall, so my bigger cat doesnt fit, tho he tried to squeeze in before I set it up for the baby and mommy. He looked like a giant tho!! I suggest if you have a large animal to deff get one for large cats & measure like it says!! Other than that I 100 percent recomment!! So far, only used once. My above average size cat (12 lb, 16" tall, 12 long, 7 wide) has sufficient space when it's all closed. I can easily and safely carry him. He was never happy, even when all the extra spaces open, BUT he isn't used to carriers yet. I'm working on it. I believe he will come to like it, as much as he can ever like to be contained. Love the fully deployed 5 "room" space. Love the ability to carry over the shoulder or as backpack. As backpack, pet can fully sit upright. When all zipped up, pet only visible from top. Easy to drape a jacket, towel, etc if going "stealth". Can deploy extra spaces individually or up to 4. Front room can also open so pet can come and go. In backpack mode, it sits on one room, and the others can be deployed, but flop around a bit if not secured. Backpack straps are hidden in zippered compartment underneath and quick clip for use. The shoulder strap is also quickly removable. Mesh is thick. Zippers work well, but be careful not to snag mesh in teeth. I go slow and put finger under moving slide to prevent. 2 small flap pockets on the front, 1 larger zip pocket on end, and a very large zippered on bottom where the backpack straps are. There's an attached leash inside, and removable, adjustable soft liner. There is a gap when front area is deployed, but nowhere near enough for him to get out. A hamster could, maybe a ferret. It might still be a problem if the pet just wanted to fuss with it. Don't feel there are any downsides. For it's carry size, it becomes pretty big when all compartments are open. And it's unusual in being able to carry horizontally or vertically. Very reasonably priced as well. As I use it more, I'll try to update. I want to ease kitty into using it so he feels happy not caged. That takes time. I really love it and am extremely pleased with my choice. ... show more

This carrier is really cute! Well made and very reasonably priced! Love the ability to carry over the shoulder or as a backpack and found the pockets helpful. I have a 7lbs yorkie and it worked well for her. It was easy to use; no issues with TSA. Only thing to note is that with all sides zipped up, only ventilation is at the top. This “pop-out” pet carrier is well made. It has a shoulder strap to carry onto planes. Easy access to place pet in carrier. Fits under seat with additional room for stretching. My dog is a miniature Cockapoo and weighs 15 pounds. It also has mesh sides for airflow and a two sided bottom (fur-lined and hard plastic). It also fits the airline parameters for a carry-on. Highly recommend! One thing to consider is that Pet May get hot if left in carrier without the sides being out.
