Not supposed to be light weight, why do they have stars for that? Any-who, item was delivered quickly and matched listing. Just getting into heavy jump rope, so great for beginners definitely not for advanced. During my rest periods I usually knock out 100 jumps with a regular jump rope, this one I had to lower it down to 50 jumps so I could at least get 5-6 sets accomplished. Handles are made of plastic but I did not want to spend an arm or a leg for this item. We’ll see how long it lasts. You wouldn't think that 1.5 lb is heavy, but it's plenty. I bought this because I didn't want a flyaway speed rope. The weight gives control, provides a serious shoulder workout, but am having troubles adjusting the length. It's just too long for me - I'm 5'3. I'll continue to wrap around the grip until I get it right. This jump rope is likely to be a long lasting tool. Better to be able to adjust it shorter than to wish for a longer length. ... show more

Wow, this rope takes some getting used to, but you will definitely feel it in your arms, shoulders and abs. I am used to a boxing style fast rope and I usually use it for warmup. This one is NOT it. You almost need to warm up before you can use it. Construction is simple, but solid. There are no ball bearings in the handles, but so far it hasn't been an issue, I am not swinging it fast enough to become a problem. Overall, I am happy with it. UPDATE: The rope broke at the handle after about a year of light usage. As I mentioned originally, the lack of ball bearings at the handle caused the plastic overheat and it just broke. I contacted the manufacturer who told me that it's out of warranty (1 year). Very disappointed. Changing the review to 2 stars. ... show more

    • Good For Slow Skips, Bad For Fast Skips
Good for use at slow speed. Once you start using it for faster skips, the plastic "bearings" start to heat up and stop working. One side will stop spinning as quickly and you will whack your ankle because both sides aren't spinning consistently. I'm trying to figure out if I can add real ball bearings to keep using the rope. Good build quality other than that. This would be a great product if they added real bearings. ... show more

I love the jump rope itself it’s s great full body work outs and it’s great and all but it’s frustrating me because I can’t seem to unravel it.

Though it is quite stiff/rigid, once you get it cycling this rope is GREAT! Just like any other weighted heavy rope, faster you cycle the more resistance it provides. Adjusting the length of the rope is also fairly simple, just need a knife and a screwdriver. Only dislike for the rope is the foam handle covers aren't very great as they start to fall apart or slide off after a few uses. ... show more

It's good for the most part. The handles not so good. I might use this outside when working out and order a better seem thank you but over all . I also paid sane shit and was a little disappointed it's a clumpsy rope. Doesn't flow without the cable bearing

This rope served me well for 9 months but the rope edge connecting to the handle has worn through because of the friction caused by the rotating handle rubbing with the rope itself.
