The 5th Avenue CW Kingpin features a Cutaway body design and the added sounds of two Godin Kingpin P90 single-coil pickups, which deliver all that classic vintage tone with presence, clarity, and a little attitude thrown in for good measure! With the soul of a 1950s archtop, the 5th Avenue is a true vintage spirit of yesterday with today’s level of modern playability. With more projection & volume in the low/mids than traditional archtop acoustic guitars, the dynamically rich tone of the 5th Avenue makes this sophisticated instrument a dream to play but not a nightmare on your wallet. The Godin 5th Avenue Series now makes the dream of owning an affordable North American archtop a reality! From Alt-Country, Delta Blues, Slide, Jazz to Rock, the 5th Avenue can really deliver both acoustically and electrically. Made from Canadian Wild Cherry, the body of the 5th Avenue features a molded arched top and back, as well as an adjustable bridge, classic F-holes, contoured high- gloss headstock, floating pickguard, and cream binding. Also, the rustic beauty of its Custom Polished Finish creates a gorgeous satin sheen reminiscent of the 19th century.

    • Great Guitar Godin is the only brand guitar I own and I have 4 of them.
This guitar is part of my collection of Godin guitars. I've owned many guitars for over 52 years. I am sold on Godin guitars. I no longer play in Bands that stopped about 10 years ago I now use a trio + band creator + Looper and now I am having a great time jamming alone. The review of this guitar is great. I love playing the blues and this guitar is perfect. The only thing you need to know as with all new/used guitars they need to be setup correctly. After setup the strings were lowered to the perfect height, fret board is now perfectly level, I did change the strings, set the intonation. Sound is right on, playability is perfect. The guitar is amazing. In ignorance, I wrote the belie review, which I RETRACT. Guitar was not setup at all. There was a rattle in the body somewhere. It is with a luthier now. an awful mistake which I hope to sell and get part of my money back. Terrible craftsmanship. I have ordered many guitars all way less expensive and they show up as if the people who built it, actually cared. ... show more

Bought this guitar for my son who has been studying jazz guitar for about 3 years. Out of the box, the guitar is absolutely beautiful. Sadly, the sound did not match the aesthetics. Returned it the next day. Fortunately, the packaging was great so the guitar was well protected when I boxed it up to return it. ... show more

guitar was quoted to be in perfect condition but it was not - there is a 1" scratch on the top of the guitar near the 3 way switch.

I lowered the action and found that the strings buzz on the edge of the bridge pickup. I sent them an email at Godin and they sent me a lowered mounting ring for the bridge pickup that gives enough clearance to drop the action all the way. This reduced the volume of the bridge pickup slightly, so I raised the screws on the pickup and that took care of it. Godin doesn't have an 800 number for customer service, but I've found that they do respond to email inquiries in a timely manner and help however they can.
