I always end up with amps WAY too big for what I use them for. Practice and shredding at home. This think is quality. Gets loud, crunch and distortion is terrific, rechargeable, battery lasts beyond a couple hours, though I’ve went on for nearly 3 and not killed battery from full to dead. It’s just a lot more than you’d expect and it stows easily and charges pretty quick. I’d be SHOCKED to see that it got returns for any reason other than experimentation or poverty. Great value for the money without doubt and has a decent array of options and features. Buy it. I know I’m selling my Fender mustang GTX and switching to Katana for the bigger one I’ll ultimately buy for no real reason other than toy delivery dopamine hits. ... show more

    • Cool little amp
The 1st one I ordered was defective, had no sound and functions as far as tuner, bluetooth, and variation of the channels did not work...figure damaged in shipment. Was not shipped by Amazon. The replacement one shipped from Amazon by Amazon works perfect and as far as sound really good for guitar, bluetooth for music not so much...BOSS needs to step up their game on the speaker. But all in all it's a cool little amp for the price point ... show more

    • Get ready to pay an extra $45 after this transaction
I'm leaving a poor review because of an issue with this product that could be very easily solved if BOSS wasn't trying to be cheap. This amp takes a very specific power supply and cord for it to properly charge. A power supply and chord that will cost you roughly $45 for something of decent quality. They supply you with a cord ,it's usb-c to usb-a which no one uses anymore AND it's only 2ft, but not the power supply. If you try to use any other charger outside of their requirement, the amp won't even attempt to run or hold a charge. BOSS could very easily rectify this issue by supplying both THE CORD AND POWER SUPPLY, but they don't. Whoever the genius was that thought it was a good idea to have a portable amp that requires a specific power supply, and then not provide that power supply in the transaction, needs to step on some legos barefoot. Update: Amp wont even turn on now, so I've completely given on it and am now returning the amp. ... show more

    • Great performance for a small box.
I was skeptical of this small box with a 5-inch speaker. I finger-pick a classical acoustic guitar with several different jam groups, mainly playing bluegrass and old-time music—no wah-wah needed! Most of our sessions include a full size amp with wide response. I read the reviews about good response by the Mini-X, so I decided to give it a try for use with small groups away from our jam environment, and also as a home practice amp. The result truly surprised me. Yes, you won't hear the deep E-string bass, but the amp has tone controls for bass, mid and treble that compensate quite well. And the box can play loud, if needed, with little distortion (unless you want it—lots of "effects" if desired. I like the separate gain and volume controls, which allow controlling the sharp scratchiness of plucked strings while adjusting volume to desired level. So far, I haven't used this amp with a group, but I will be doing that in a few weeks. Maybe I'll update this review after that experience, but at this point I am very pleased with the Mini-X. And the wifi connection with phone is an unexpected plus for playing music. SFSG. ... show more

    • Best thing I've purchased in a long time! :D
Absolutely loving this little amp! It's very loud for my apartment living room, I never play with the volume knob beyond a 9:00 position. The effects are a fun way to switch it up. I play mostly metal, so I love the tones. IT CHUGS. The switch on the brown setting is great for metal living. I like the octave effect a lot. It's amazing that it's portable. Playing guitar out on my balcony with it is pretty epic. The charge lasts a good amount of time. I feel like I only charge it every 3 days maybe? Also connecting with a Bluetooth for Jam along purpose or just to play music through make this thing all in all amazing. 10,000% worth the buy. Get it ... show more

    • Tiny size, big tone
Review Image by Salari
I got this so I could practice downstairs while relaxing and without having to use my considerably larger and louder Boss Katana 50W amp, and it's perfect for it. It has a surprising amount of tone flexibility for such a tiny thing, and if you're so inclined it can get pretty loud. It looks great, the price is right, and the built in sound effects are solid (although the synth effect is kind of pointless and doesn't sound great). It's the ideal amp for practicing, and although I haven't tried it, I've heard that it's great for recording too. ... show more
