  • Nice little portable amp Nice little portable amp
I intend to use this amp while camping. The built-in rechargeable battery is appealing for its portability. Nice tasty little tones come out of this little guy. Great for warming up and practicing. Three-way equalizer. Reverb and delay. Built-in tuner. Plenty of effects and punch for quick little practice sessions. ... show more

  • Tiny size, big tone Tiny size, big tone
I got this so I could practice downstairs while relaxing and without having to use my considerably larger and louder Boss Katana 50W amp, and it's perfect for it. It has a surprising amount of tone flexibility for such a tiny thing, and if you're so inclined it can get pretty loud. It looks great, the price is right, and the built in sound effects are solid (although the synth effect is kind of pointless and doesn't sound great). It's the ideal amp for practicing, and although I haven't tried it, I've heard that it's great for recording too. ... show more

  • Very good mini amp for home practice. Tones are solid.
This is a surprisingly robust amp for its small size. Its tones are good, and it takes pedals very well. I wouldn't recommend it for any type of gig, but it's adequate for lower-volume home practice. If it was mic'd up into a PA, though, it might get the job done in a pinch.

  • Get ready to pay an extra $45 after this transaction
I'm leaving a poor review because of an issue with this product that could be very easily solved if BOSS wasn't trying to be cheap. This amp takes a very specific power supply and cord for it to properly charge. A power supply and chord that will cost you roughly $45 for something of decent quality. They supply you with a cord ,it's usb-c to usb-a which no one uses anymore AND it's only 2ft, but not the power supply. If you try to use any other charger outside of their requirement, the amp won't even attempt to run or hold a charge. BOSS could very easily rectify this issue by supplying both THE CORD AND POWER SUPPLY, but they don't. Whoever the genius was that thought it was a good idea to have a portable amp that requires a specific power supply, and then not provide that power supply in the transaction, needs to step on some legos barefoot. Update: Amp wont even turn on now, so I've completely given on it and am now returning the amp. ... show more

  • Great little travel/ practice amp.
Awesome light weight practice amp. Returned the Joyo 15 watt for this. 3 hour jams no problem. Perfect for house, travel. I have NOT Gigged it. I'm sure it would be fine for Busking or in small quiet bars, restaurants. I haven't used volume over 3-4 though.

  • Great practice amp, but that's the point!
This thing sounds great FOR WHAT IT IS... A PRACTICE AMP. Don't buy this expecting it to sound like a Marshall Stack or the second coming of a Dumble amp, because it won't do that. It never was intended to do that. Buy it to practice with, play at a moment's notice, or just to have some fun with. That's what it's good at. It's very portable, has good battery life and sounds pretty darned good for an under $200.00, small, battery powered practice amp. Boss knows what they're doing with the Katana line. I really like mine and if it broke, I'd probably get another. ... show more

  • Great portable amp
I love this little amp! It charges like a cell phone and plays loud enough!

  • Great performance for a small box.
I was skeptical of this small box with a 5-inch speaker. I finger-pick a classical acoustic guitar with several different jam groups, mainly playing bluegrass and old-time music—no wah-wah needed! Most of our sessions include a full size amp with wide response. I read the reviews about good response by the Mini-X, so I decided to give it a try for use with small groups away from our jam environment, and also as a home practice amp. The result truly surprised me. Yes, you won't hear the deep E-string bass, but the amp has tone controls for bass, mid and treble that compensate quite well. And the box can play loud, if needed, with little distortion (unless you want it—lots of "effects" if desired. I like the separate gain and volume controls, which allow controlling the sharp scratchiness of plucked strings while adjusting volume to desired level. So far, I haven't used this amp with a group, but I will be doing that in a few weeks. Maybe I'll update this review after that experience, but at this point I am very pleased with the Mini-X. And the wifi connection with phone is an unexpected plus for playing music. SFSG. ... show more
