  • Best thing I've purchased in a long time! :D
Absolutely loving this little amp! It's very loud for my apartment living room, I never play with the volume knob beyond a 9:00 position. The effects are a fun way to switch it up. I play mostly metal, so I love the tones. IT CHUGS. The switch on the brown setting is great for metal living. I like the octave effect a lot. It's amazing that it's portable. Playing guitar out on my balcony with it is pretty epic. The charge lasts a good amount of time. I feel like I only charge it every 3 days maybe? Also connecting with a Bluetooth for Jam along purpose or just to play music through make this thing all in all amazing. 10,000% worth the buy. Get it ... show more

  • Best Mini speaker ever made
Whoa. Just Whoa. This thing costs less than most overdrive pedals and is basically a full on tube sim in a box. It even does edge of breakup tones perfectly and responds to pick attack just like my Klon or Dumble (just kidding, but you get the point). At this price point, every guitarist should be required to just buy this immediately as their primary practice amp. You can literally get so many tones out of this thing, and they sound soooo good that it's a no brainer. And the best part? Its EASY. No apps, no fancy controls, just guitar knobs and sweet, pure tones. Yeah, I love my Spark and my full size Katanas, but this amp will have a place in my permanent practice areas from now on. HUZZAH!!! ... show more

  • Great performance for a small box.
I was skeptical of this small box with a 5-inch speaker. I finger-pick a classical acoustic guitar with several different jam groups, mainly playing bluegrass and old-time music—no wah-wah needed! Most of our sessions include a full size amp with wide response. I read the reviews about good response by the Mini-X, so I decided to give it a try for use with small groups away from our jam environment, and also as a home practice amp. The result truly surprised me. Yes, you won't hear the deep E-string bass, but the amp has tone controls for bass, mid and treble that compensate quite well. And the box can play loud, if needed, with little distortion (unless you want it—lots of "effects" if desired. I like the separate gain and volume controls, which allow controlling the sharp scratchiness of plucked strings while adjusting volume to desired level. So far, I haven't used this amp with a group, but I will be doing that in a few weeks. Maybe I'll update this review after that experience, but at this point I am very pleased with the Mini-X. And the wifi connection with phone is an unexpected plus for playing music. SFSG. ... show more

  • Cool little amp
The 1st one I ordered was defective, had no sound and functions as far as tuner, bluetooth, and variation of the channels did not work...figure damaged in shipment. Was not shipped by Amazon. The replacement one shipped from Amazon by Amazon works perfect and as far as sound really good for guitar, bluetooth for music not so much...BOSS needs to step up their game on the speaker. But all in all it's a cool little amp for the price point ... show more

  • Great practice amp, but that's the point!
This thing sounds great FOR WHAT IT IS... A PRACTICE AMP. Don't buy this expecting it to sound like a Marshall Stack or the second coming of a Dumble amp, because it won't do that. It never was intended to do that. Buy it to practice with, play at a moment's notice, or just to have some fun with. That's what it's good at. It's very portable, has good battery life and sounds pretty darned good for an under $200.00, small, battery powered practice amp. Boss knows what they're doing with the Katana line. I really like mine and if it broke, I'd probably get another. ... show more

  • Recharable Battery Design Flaw
I don't write a lot of reviews. But I have to try to save people time and heartache. If you get one that works good for you. But I wasted a whole day troubleshooting this and trying different chargers and cables. None of them work and there is not a lot of reviews or literature out there, but after a lot of research found out this is a known problem, shipping with defective internal batteries / usb-c charging. My amp was DOA and never charged. I would go with another more reliable brand. As a side note, I really love the Jazz Chorus amp. Have nothing against the brand, but they cheaped out in QA so buyer beward. ... show more

  • Is a Boss so it had to be awesome.
This is really a very nice amp, I have been playing it every day for a half hour or more for the last two weeks on one charge, and it’s sounds really good, all analog, well I dont know if the effects are analog. Sweetwater music shipped it out to me like real fast, would buy again.
