Features

  • Natural Movement Pattern: Pendulum squats typically mimic a more natural squatting motion compared to hack squats. The pendulum squat allows for a more upright torso position and greater freedom of movement, which can be beneficial for individuals who want to focus on targeting the quadriceps and glutes while minimizing stress on the lower back. Our squat machine has a perfect squat fixed path for the trainer who can not find the correct squat path
  • Versatility: Pendulum squat machines often allow for more versatility in terms of foot placement and stance width, which can target different muscle groups and accommodate individual biomechanics and preferences. GMWD pendulum squat is unique because the counterbalance makes the movement easier at the bottom (where youre weakest) and harder at the top (where youre strongest). Pendulum squats work your quadriceps, gluteal muscles, adductors, and calves
  • Safer: Machines are inherently safer than free weights because fewer things can go wrong. GMWD pendulum squat has a safety stopper at the bottom. So if you cant complete a rep, you just squat down until the squat machine makes contact against the safety catch. From there, you can weasel out of the machine. It doesnt need a spotter. Safety stopper positions: 5. Safety height range: 18 -23.7
  • Commercial Weight Machine: With a footprint of 63" x 42", the gross weight is a staggering 287 pounds. No matter how many weights you have on hand, you can put them to good use with this stellar piece of equipment
  • Spring Counterbalanced System: We add the removable spring design to this machine. The spring counterbalance system can provide resistance throughout the range of motion. This means that the resistance can be adjusted based on the user's strength and the specific phase of the exercise, allowing for a more tailored workout experience. You can choose to remove or install the springs as you see fit

  • Absolutely Blown Away! Amazing Value!
Packaging - 10/10 - Some of the best I’ve ever seen for gym equipment. Everything plastic wrapped, separated by cardboard and foam, and arrived in perfect condition. They could probably save $20 a unit by limiting the packaging materials and the fact they didn’t say something. Very well put together. Assembly - 10/10 - Some of the best instructions I’ve seen . There was not a single piece I put together that I later had to undo because I missed which post needed which holes, or missed something small. Everything was clearly labeled and they went out of their way to make sure small details with similar pieces were clearly marked. Quality - 8/10 - This is where I was shocked. I viewed GMWD as a budget equipment company, and was very concerned at this price point ($800) that it may be to flimsy, unstable or just downright unsafe with a good amount of weight. I was very wrong, this machine is very stable, very well put together and I’m still shocked at how a pendulum squat for under a $1000 can be so good! Don’t get me wrong, my 3x3 power rack is definitely using thicker gauge steel and more robust bolts, but for anyone squatting less than 500lbs I think this machine will serve you well! This feels like the Bells Of Steel model, without the weight horns, band begs, or grips for 1/3 the price! Comfort - 7/10 - Overall the adjustable foot plate and accessing the safety handle work very well. My only major critique is that you can tell the foam pads are cheaper and could definitely benefit from some multi layer high density foam with a gel pad. On top of this, I’d love to see some grip handles you could hold onto during the movement. However, none of these things keep you from getting the work done and are just creature comforts! But if they ever sold upgraded pads, I’d personally buy it. Size - 10/10 - This a pendulum squat, it’s not exactly small, however when you compare this to other pendulum squats you see in commercial facilities it’s actually fairly compact. It’s about as long as a standard power rack with safety bars on the front, but much skinnier. This fits great in the corner of my basement and their decision to go with spring assist instead of front load plates allows you put it right up to your wall. I also wanted to purchase their 3D Hip Thrust machine, but due to the complexity of that build I wanted to test one of their simpler pieces first to make sure I didn’t waste my money. I am very impressed, and very satisfied with the quality and value, and will definitely be shopping with GMWD for more machines in the future! ... show more

  • Overall pleased
It took about 3 hours to assemble by myself. Biggest tip I can say is don't tighten anything down until much later. The biggest downside to me at 6'3 is the length of the backrest. I can make do, but would be great if it was a few inches longer. Foot rest is good. I haven't had any issues with reracking it and have felt safe going to failure. Overall pleased. It's obviously not the same quality as fully welded units and there is some wiggle with higher weight, but will be fine for the vast majority of home gyms. On that note, it's also half or even more than half the price of those welded units. Shipping and delivery was also shorter than original ETA by a week or so. Took a few days for it to have tracking info and then it was coming from Cali. ... show more

  • Excellent addition to home gym
It's shipped in separate boxes that may arrive at different times. I found this out the hard way: my Amazon shipping page said "out for delivery" on a Friday so I took the day off work with the plan to put it together and have it ready for the following week's workout. What was delivered that day was just box 1 of 3. The rest were delivered the following week. It's a great machine; I'm just telling potential buyers to not not waste their time by making the same mistake I did. Assembly takes about 5 hours. I recommend using a battery powered impact drill as I did for tightening duties. I also recommend using Loc-Tite or equivalent for the fasteners that are not secured by the nylock nuts. I'm 41 years old and am just getting back into weight training after a change in jobs left me with the time and energy to do so. I'd previously trained seriously when aged 14-20 and then again while in the Army aged 27-31. Hack squats always hurt my knees and leg presses always hurt my back but the few pendulum squat machines I had tried were always great for my body and joints. For my home gym, these provide a great secondary exercise to squats. This one has been a great purchase as it mimics the same movement I found in gyms on the commercial pieces. No joint or back pain. I drilled and added a 2x4 to the very bottom of the foot plate to add height to be able to do calf raises and that works great. If you do that, it becomes a dual purpose machine. ... show more

  • Very Solid Home Use Machine
Pros- Fast shipping, packaged very well, movement is perfect while still being lighter and space saving for home use. Arrives in 3 different boxes which are less than 100# each which made it very easy to move into my basement as opposed to commercial pendulums or the original one I was planning on purchasing from Fettle fitmess. Cons- 2 holes didn't line up and the pendulum arm was a pain to put together. Had to use pb blaster and a lot of force to push them into each other. Overall- very great machine and the movement feels identical to commercial pendulums. The commercial gym I frequent has one which made me love it and does the exact same plus more features such as the footpad having multiple heights. 10/10 machine and a 7.5/10 assembly. IG is @thatliftingitguy if you want to ask direct questions or see it in action loaded with weight. I typically use a few 45s on pendulums. ... show more

  • Great pendulum squat machine
I watched a ton of positive reviews by “influencers” on this pendulum squat but was still hesitant to purchase it. Honestly, I assumed I was going to be throwing away $800 only to replace it in a year or so with something of higher quality for my home gym. I figured it would do “for now”. Fortunately, I was wrong. This thing is awesome. The assembly instructions were fairly easy to follow and the machine itself is functionally sound. Honestly, it functions and feels as good as a $6000 brand name unit that I tried at a friend’s personal training studio. Is it as pretty? No. The plastic tubes that go over the springs are a little cheap but they can be removed if worn. The powder coating isn’t perfect, but it’s covered and looks great if you don’t nit-pick it. This thing is awesome and after a solid month of both my husband and I using it, it’s not going anywhere. We are completely happy with it and don’t see any reason at this time to even consider upgrading to a different one. My one complaint on functionality, admittedly very minor, would be to replace the screw pin used to adjust the foot plate to a pop pin just to make it easier to adjust. We had a question upon assembly, we emailed the company thru Amazon and they replied with in 12 hours. That was impressive. For the price, this is the best budget piece we’ve ever owned. ... show more

  • Very pleased; impressed...good additions to home gym
Recent owner. I have had 2 workouts with this pendulum squat machine thus far. Its a very good piece for the home gym. 1) Instructions were amazing; other companies should learn from GMWD. I cant stress how wonderful their instructions were and how nothing was missing. 2) When constructing, DO NOT tighten the bolts until the VERY end. 3) When assembling the rotating arm base, attach it to the cage first; do NOT assembly it with the lever arm on the ground (as the instructions imply) because it will be VERY hard to then place on top of the cage and line up the holes; 4) Padding is good; not great, but no issues. 5) Machine is 100% smooth and it is solid. HOWEVER, be advised: this is NOT / NOT commercial grade quality. It is NOT 3x3 steel. Also, there WILL be a wobble as you use this machine. Its very negligible, but due to the lever arm, your cage/ machine will slightly wobble as you use heavier weights. That being said, I feel very confident when using this. 6) I am 5-9, 193 lbs Male for your point of reference and the ROM is outstanding. 7) the foot plate is large; placement of feet in any formation is easy; foot plate is also very sturdy and will NOT be easy to attach so good luck! LOL...8) it is delivered in 3 boxes; packaged very well. All the hardware (bolts, screws, etc) were nicely packaged. 9) PLEASE do get / use an electric wrench; TRUST ME. LOL and 10) I am very happy with this purchase and it remains the cheapest in terms of pricing. I did a lot of research and all other Pendulum Squats are much more expensive (granted, their material is commercial grade). Best of luck!! ... show more

  • Great piece for my basement gym
Great piece of equipment. I unpacked the boxes one day, and assembled by myself the next day. As long as you don’t tighten up the bolts until the end, it goes together easily. No missing parts. and great instructions. Keeps my spine in a perfect position (have had 2 back surgeries). One assembly trick to get the springs on was elevating the arm all the way to the basement ceiling and propping it up using a 6’ digging bar (pictured). I’m 6’3” and it still fits me well. Can’t wait to see how this strengthens my legs over the next several months. I don’t think there is a better home use option when you look at the price points of competitors. The compactness of this piece by using springs instead of a counter weight arm worked perfectly with the space left in the basement gym. ... show more

  • QC issues, bolt holes don’t align
***This review can change based on what their response is to my message I sent them regarding the defected item*** Their customer service team is great. They responded quickly to my issues and assisted. I will continue to purchase from this company, the gear is solid and their team menders are responsive and helpful. The machine arrived in 3 packages, all of which were nicely packed. After taking all the pieces out, they all appeared to be in good order with no obvious damages. The build is relatively simple and straight forward, however, as I got step 12, I ran into some major issues. After sliding the upper side reinforced tube on, the plate that gets secured to the main frame was completely out of alignment - the holes for the bolts to slide through were way off. I worked my way backwards and loosened all the bolts/nuts from the previous pieces as much as possible to allow some give/wiggle room, but there was no way to get them lined up. As I said earlier, no pieces appeared to be damaged in transit. This seems like a quality control issue with the manufacturer. I sent the seller a message, I’m hoping they can just send me those pieces. 85% of the machine (steps 1-11) have been completed. Deconstructing and trying to put all this back in the three boxes would be a nightmare. I’ll update this review based on their response to this issue to see if they make it right. ... show more
