I loved how well this glass chair mat was packaged - it arrived safe and intact, giving me a great first impression. I had been using a vinyl mat on my carpet before, and this tempered glass mat is a completely different experience. Unlike the vinyl mat, it lets me roll my desk chair effortlessly in any direction. I wanted to wait and use this mat at least a year before writing a review about this product. I love it!!! For the last 20 years since I retired I've been wasting my money every 6 months trying to get a decent chair mat for my home office, I think I found it! I'm 6'3" and 210 lbs. and I've been cracking every chair mat I purchased for years. I spend a lot of time in front of my computer everyday and this mat is fantastic. The tempered glass is awesome and the chair glides easily on the glass, no sharp edges. However, if you have a carpeted floor the mat will slide a bit, so it might need some readjustment every once in a while, I have my mat in a way which cannot move since it's surrounded by my desk and a couple of bookcases, so it has nowhere to go. The glass mat does come with some anti-slide transparent rubber stickers but they don't do a very good job on carpets, they would probably do a better job on a wood floor. Lastly, this mat is extremely heavy and you might need some help placing it down, I tried to do it on my own and it was a big mistake, it took me forever and I almost broke my back, so get some help. Would I buy it again if it breaks (which I really doubt)? yes, I would. ... show more

This replaced a vinyl type chair mat that was at least 10 years old and had starting to come apart. I like the tempered glass mat. My chair rolls super smooth, and the size is great for the space I have. My only gripe is that the mat has a tendency to move, even with included anti-slip pads applied. This office chair mat works great! It fits perfectly for my setup. It feels very sturdy and my office chair stays in place and doesn't slide around unless I push hard enough to roll it in a specific direction. I have this on carpet and have had no issues with it. The item was well packaged and had no damage. It's tempered glass so I try to make sure my office chair doesn't roll too close to the edges but it has happened a few times and no cracks occurred. ... show more

    • More than I expected for sure ... so far anyway!

I bought this after a plastic one I had bought roughly six months ago cracked while i was leaning back in my chair. Not only did the plastic mat eventually crack, despite it's guarantee, about 2 weeks in its surface started to get cloudy from the repeated rolling of my office chair. The circle in which I do most of my work had become white - tolerable but an eyesore. I'm about 300 lbs, and my chair has those hard caster wheels, so I ordered this while cringing, anticipating the future horror show when it shatters. I've only had it about a month now, but let me tell you, it's much more substantial than I expected. This thing is thick and has good weight to it. I'm still cautious not to put all my weight on a single wheel, and I don't just plop down, but I really think this thing could hold up indefinitely. Its harder surface feels much better to roll on, and so far it has no clouding, which makes sense to me only plastic would do. It does creep on carpet, but at a much slower rate than the plastic mat. I will update this review with any changes. ***Update*** It's been 1.5 years now and this thing still looks great and still hasn't cracked. Everytime I clean it, it's clear and bright - not dull like a plastic mat would be by now. Also, I've put on quite a bit of weight. I've weighed about 360 for 6-12 months, and stopped being super careful while sitting down long ago, hard caster wheels and all, and the tempered glass is holding up! Now I don't plop all my weight down on it at once, but I do kick my feet up, lean back in the chair with full confidence and havent had a mishap yet. Highly recommend, one of the best purchaes I've made on Amazon. Will edit again if anything changes. ... show more
