INTRO: My daughter is 7 years old, loves Science and Space, and has a Space-themed bedroom. She outgrew the length of her old summertime blanket and asked if she could have a new one that fit her better and was “Spacey!” After looking at several options, we settled on choosing this one. * PROS: The blanket is super soft and cuddly — our daughter loves snuggling up in it. Our little girl is enthralled with the featured Space pattern. It’s brightly colorful and the designs are artistically drawn in a playful kid-friendly style. This is our third glow-in-the-dark blanket and the glow material on this product is by far the best we’ve experienced. The material charges up with light relatively quickly, glows bright, and lasts much longer than anticipated. We have a rechargeable UV black light flashlight on order from Amazon (https://a.co/d/07pT0X4T) to assist our daughter with charging up the blanket before every bedtime. No noticeable loose threads or stitching were discovered. The seams are cross-stitched for extra durability. The blanket isn’t too thin, and it’s not thick and heavy, providing exactly what we were seeking for warm season nights. The blanket’s care instructions are easy to follow and included on a tag sewn into the blanket in case they’re forgotten. * CONS: The glow-in-the-dark material isn’t the same soft fleecy material as the rest of the blanket and my daughter immediately commented that she wished it was. The glow material isn’t abrasive, it’s just not uniform to the touch when running your hand over the blanket’s surface. That said, we’re hopeful it softens up over time with a few washes. Regardless of whether it does or doesn’t, she still loves the blanket. The design pattern is darker and more pronounced on one side of the blanket and a bit faded and less detailed on the reverse side. This is a minor gripe. The reverse side of the blanket does not glow. * REVIEW SUMMARY: Sometimes trying to make your child happy can be hit or miss when you buy them something — this blanket was a HUGE hit with our daughter! The top things we like about this blanket are how cuddly-soft it is, the patterns are detailed and playful, and the glow material has excellent performance. The top things we didn’t like are that the glow material isn’t as soft as the main fleece material, and one side of the blanket is darker and more pronounced than the reverse side. These points are both minor. * VERDICT: I highly recommend it! IMPORTANT NOTE: I spend a very lengthy amount of time using the products I review, and I often spend even longer documenting them in writing, photos, and occasionally videos, for your benefit. I got this blanket for my grandson who is obsessed with blankets. He had one that was a bulldozer that was the fuzzy flannel soft material that he brings EVERYWHERE with him. I wanted to get him one as a backup so that when one is in the washer machine he has the other one on hand. This one is a big and can cover both me and him while sitting on the couch. He is 3 and I am 5'1 if that helps with the length of blanket. The softness is ok, it has some spots all over the blanket that is rough, which I'm assuming is the blow in the dark part of it. Which it doesn't glow in the dark either, I tried holding it up to the light for a few minutes to see if that would activate it but that didn't do anything. So not sure what I am supposed to do to make it glow, but he is 3 so he really doesn't know what it means to glow in the dark anyways. But for the older kids who might want that aspect good luck to get it to glow. Once I washed it one side of it is soft and fuzzy and the other side is kind of prickly, so he uses one side to cover up with and the other side is the one that he puts up towards the top. Overall it is an ok blanket, it will definitely cover your toddler or youth but it could be softer in my opinion.

I'm a sucker for pretty much anything glow in the dark, so I wanted this instantly! WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: Well, it's a soft, comfy blanket that's big enough for a kid to get fully enveloped in and just right for adults or kids used as a throw on the couch, chair etc. It's not too thick, not too thin - it hits that happy medium good for most occasions and has an ultra soft, fuzzy feel that makes you wish your pants were made out of it. The glow on this blanket is excellent! Turn on a black light to absolutely SUPERCHARGE it (or anything glow in the dark)! It's exactly what I expected, with BETTER than expected glow capability as sometimes glow in the dark stuff on fabric can be a bit lack-luster - not this blanket! It comes shipped in a vacuum-packed bag, so it takes up less space in shipping (good for the environment)... it may FEEL like a bag of brussels sprouts when you get it out of the mail - but worry not, your blanket hides inside, ready to boogie! Like all vacuum sealed clothing/fabric, it pops into life the second you break the seal on the bag (rather satisfying...). NICE. DRAWBACKS OR ISSUES? No complaints. It's a blanket - the "outer space" pattern show in the photos on the item is exactly what you get, with all the glow in the dark goodness promised! And if you've got a black light set up, it's a perfect TRIPPY ADDITION to any SPACE PALACE... ;)

I've been looking for glow in the dark blankets for my twin nephews and one loves space themed anything. This blanket is going to be his favorite as it is so soft, lightweight, super colorful, amazing to look at and great quality! He is going to be thrilled with his new blanket as its super cuddly and even more fun to see glow. It only needs a small amount of time under a light source and this blanket takes off! This has been a favorite for me and I can't wait to finally be able to give it to him. I would recommend as a nice blanket for any kiddo or space crazed adult!!
