Full disclosure: I'm not using these to make frame foundations. I'm putting beeswax on in a layer, then letting it harden, then rolling it up with a wick inside to make a kind of fun and easy beeswax candle taper. It works great for that. I've been a beekeeper for five years, and I make a lot of ancillary products with honey, beeswax - soaps, chapsticks, candles. I am using the other side to make a pattern in my soap molds! I've never ventured into coating my own plastic frames or making beeswax foundation; this is a great mold, just not sure how well it works for 'foundation' that I'd want to use in my beehive. ... show more

I have only experimented with these so far -- not having used the output for a frame yet -- mostly because I haven't had enough way to do it. The two silicon pieces let you press and make the frame backing -- and they seal together -- it's a bit tedious, but seems to work well, excited to experiment with switching out the plastic sheets. ... show more
