On balance, it is a great product worthy of the many thousands of purchases and positive reviews. I bought it for reading because I was frustrated that when reading books or papers I find it very hard to have proper task lighting in different locations. This light definitely takes care of that. I am working on research projects that require me to read actual books and I used it immediately for hours. It works great when I am sitting on my a couch, on an office chair or even in bed (sitting up in bed or if you are looking up instead of sideways; I do not think it very practical if you want to lie down). And it works just as well if I am standing at my high desk or just standing by the bookcases looking for a quick reference. That versatility and mobility, combined with consistent lighting for the book I was reading is exactly what I wanted. Battery life appears to be quite long and I love the brightness directly placed on the page I am reading and how it moves with me as I turn the pages. The three levels of brightness and color alternatives allow you to choose what works best in your environment and for your eyes. (I would heed the manufacturer's warning not to look directly into the light, I have not done it, but I think it a very bad idea). The unit also works as task lighting when you need your hands to be free and in tight positions. I read some concern about the center piece not being flexible. I disagree. The wider center means that the unit rests on your shoulder, not on your neck. That makes it a lot more comfortable to wear for extended periods, especially because it does not weigh very much. I actually forgot I was wearing it when I went from reading in a sitting position to working at my computer which is on a standing desk. My only criticism and concern is that it is too easy to turn it on. The lightest of touches will turn on either light. In fact, I was very surprised that both lights were on at full intensity when I first opened the box, despite the box being sealed and the unit being in its factory plastic packaging. This seems dangerous. I would absolutely not put it in luggage or even carry it in a backpack, which is unfortunate as it would otherwise seem like a great travel gadget. I use this every night for two hours when I’m reading before bed. I even use this on Halloween night and it provided the perfect amount of light to see where I was walking down uneven sidewalks. I charged it completely when it first arrived and with the amount of time I’ve been using it the indicator lights still show. It’s at full capacity after two weeks use for at least two hours a day. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. It’s comfortable and easy to position as needed when sitting and laying down in bed. I even put it around my head like a headlamp with the proper positioning and tension. It stays in place well so long as I’m not aggressively turning my head in different directions. You could even rubber bandit to the bill of a ball cap to give it more stability if needed. ... show more

this is a must have for readers who don't want to disturb their partners when reading in bed. I was worried about the back part being uncomfortable to wear in bed but I didn't even notice it. But it also has so many other usages than just using it to read in bed, it's just a great all around little flashlight to have. I haven't used it a ton so can't speak to the battery life but that's all dependent on usage anyways so can vary user to user. But I've used it for just every day things where I need a flashlight but also want to use both hands. I can see this being more useful than a headlamp in some situations for fixing things around the house as well ... show more

Very nice to have around. I bought specifically for reading. Was hoping to use around more generally. I have actually used more often than I'd hoped. The brightness settings are useful, posable nature of the device makes it very flexible. It has held up and recharges well. It is more sturdy than the thin gooseneck types, but yields if you look around or get drowsy. The switches dont make mich noise, so you may want to play a little with the settings to become familiar with them and what works best for each task. This ought to be very useful for power outages and for after hours movements. Elderly should have a couple of these of comparable products where they can easily reach them. One in a bedroom, a garage, places they spend a lot of time and need to see where they're going to reduce chance of falling or colliding. ... show more

It is great for evening mail delivery. On these fall evenings. It is dark and head lamps do not work to great in a car. The reflection in the windshield is enough to blind you. As it is you can't see the letters, parcels,& magazine's and see to drive at night. This directs the light where I need it. The only fallback I have found it moves on you neck. So I started hanging it from the rear view mirror. It's a great product. I am very impressed by the charge the battery holds. The price is incredible. The light itself is pretty decent, with handy arms that hold position, and I appreciate the ability to change the color temperature and brightness. The one big flaw is the charging port, which seems to have some stability/connection issues (though making it USB-C is great). But what really makes this brand stand out is amazingly above-and-beyond customer service. They actively solicit AND ACT ON customer feedback to improve the product. And when I filled out the warranty registration and included a suggestion (to make the middle brightness actually more middle, vs closer to the brightest), I got a personal reply from a member of their customer experience team, thanking me for the input and encouraging me to reach out with any other suggestions or questions. That promoted me to mention the charging issue, at which point they immediately offered to ship me a new light. Now I have two, which means that even if one is taking a while to charge, I can use the other. As long as they maintain this kind of customer support, I highly recommend the brand. ... show more
