I bought two of these lights to replace an old, ugly fixture in a very dark hallway and to replace an infrared heat lamp in my bathroom (the condo is from the 70s). I did not install them, but the handyman who did said that they were extremely easy to install. They look great and produce a LOT of light. The one in the bathroom is actually a little too bright to use except when I'm cleaning. The LEDs cannot be replaced; the lamp needs to be replaced once they burn out. HOWEVER, unless you have them on 24/7 they will last for decades. ... show more

Build quality is good and installation was reasonably easy. It was replacing the temporary $2 socket on the ceiling with a 1600 lumens LED bulb. From the non-scientific, purely visual test, it is definitely NOT brighter than that temporary setup, so the rating of 2000+ lumens in description is likely not accurate. I bought this light for an over kitchen sink application, great low profile and the fact that it's dimmable was also a plus. The only thing that would make it better would be adjustable Lumen output levels to match the adjustable Lumens of the surrounding can lights. All I can say is wow, and my wife feels the same way! This thing emits a warm diffused light as advertised, and even at 28 watts, I'll have to install a dimmer. If you're in the market for a ceiling light for any room in the home, you won't be disappointed with this baby. With an estimated 45 year lifespan, I'll be long-gone, by the time it needs to be replaced. Love the low-profile styling, which only could be achieved with LEDs. Not only did the product come damaged, but when we decided to use it anyway (COVID made it necessary) it was... rather dull. This was bought to replace a kitchen light, but barely gives off enough light to be considered a nightlight. I do not recommend this product for any area that you need to actually be able to see in. I was in a hurry and needed a light asap so bought this one - not good value for money, but I had no time to shop around -- Around $50 for a plastic light - also, don't think the rim is "metal" - looks and feels plastic to me.
