Description

Global 3 Piece Cooks Knife Set. Set comprises of 8" chef's knife, 5.5" utility knife and 3.5" paring knife (G2, GS5 and GS38). Loved by professional chefs around the world, Global knives are an excellent choice for the serious home cook. The thin and razor sharp Global blade allows the cook to cleanly slice through foods, preserving the integrity of the ingredient and maximizing its flavor. The majority of Global knives are ground to a straight point rather than the western style of beveling the edge. To balance their knives Global uses a hollow handle that is filled with just the right amount of sand to create the correct balance. The handle has its own unique darkened dimples for a non-slip grip. Because the knives are very light weight they reduce hand fatigue. Global knives have a smooth contour and seamless, all stainless construction that eliminates food and dirt traps. Global knifes are forged in Japan from CROMOVA 18 Stainless Steel, a blend of 18 percent chromium for good stain resistance plus molybdenum and vanadium which gives excellent edge retention

These knives are incredible. The balance is perfect. The blade is super sharp. Handles make for a comfortable grip. Yes, they are expensive but you won't need to buy another knife if you buy these. You could just buy the chef's knife and save some money. The vegetable knife and paring knife are great but you don't need those. Nice extra but you can do everything you need to do in the kitchen with just a great chef's knife and this is the one. Easy to clean. Do not put in the dishwasher. This will dull your blade. Great knifes - had this brand for years! However this package was of inferior quality as two out of 3 knifes started to rust after only 4 weeks of use (no, we do NOT machine wash them)

    • Not as sharp as I'd anticipated.
I must admit I had really high expectations for this set. I did a lot of research and was looking for some great knives worthy of a chef's kitchen and settled on Global. I know this isn't the top of the line set, but I was not impressed with the sharpness of the blades right out of the box. Others commented that you don't need to sharpen the knives for awhile, but mine came slightly dull and the company wants you to only sharpen with a ceramic whetstone (which I thought I'd buy in a few months when the knives got dull). So maybe I had higher expectations that I should have, but I've owned plenty of 'meh' knives before but they were easily sharpened and worked fine. I just wanted to splurge for some really great knives for making dinner every night and I just don't think these live up the hype. They are nice to hold and I like their weighting, but the sharpness factor is why I chose them and they have fallen short. ... show more

I tried the chef knife at a kitchen store along with several other high end knives and this was my favorite. All of the knives are well balanced and handle beautifully. Extremely sharp and thin blades allow for precise cuts. I would highly recommend not only the knives but this particular set as it covers all of your basics for a great price. ... show more

Knives are great, I have several Global knives. However there are scratches on the blade and tang that are etched into the metal. Sad!!

They came on time and are phenomenal! What a difference from my old mix matched hand me down set I've had most of my adult life. These knives are very well balanced and feel light in the hand but solid. Super sharp!
