  • A Disabled Person's Review
I previously owned a 4-wheel scooter, with two heavy lawn and garden batteries, that was impossible to use unless I had someone with me to help take it apart and put together. That negates the ability of being more independent, so for my needs, my next mobility scooter needed to be light, simple to setup, with good battery life. I am a left leg above-the-knee amputee with extensive nerve damage, in my early 40's. Unpacking the scooter was easy and fast. It does require some lifting, but nothing is so heavy that it couldn't be done by myself. The only assembly required was to install the foot pads which was just a quick three screws with locking washers. Everything else was already assembled. The battery was charged roughly 50% and required another hour of charging time before use. The instruction manual is helpful and easy to understand. Included is a 10mm wrench which is a nice bonus, as well as an allen wrench to install the bracket for the seat. Total setup time took me no more than 30 minutes. Right off the bat, this mobility scooter is designed to be lightweight and easy to assemble/disassemble. Everything on this scooter seems to revolve around being easy and lightweight. The battery itself is a snap to remove and charge. It weighs practically nothing, and yet provides solid power for the day. I love how I can leave the unit in my car, and just bring the battery inside after use. Less hauling around, easy to use for a disabled person. I believe the seat is the heaviest part of the entire scooter, but even that is very easy to manage. I'm still amazed at how light the scooter is considering that it supports up to 300lbs. I can pack and unpack it from my Ford Escape with very little effort, about three minutes. The foot pedal to lock/unlock the folding portion is a bit tricky to master at first, it does require some force with your foot to get it to unlock so you can fold/unfold the unit. But, once it's locked, it's very solid. You certainly can charge the battery in the scooter if you don't want to remove it, with an easy access port on the front of the unit. The controls are simple and easy to use. I especially like the digital display, and the fact that it is backlit when you turn on the headlight and rear safety light. The headlight itself is LED, and throws a considerable amount of light in front of you. It came in handy at my son's recent baseball game, where the parking lot had no lights, and I needed to be seen as I was making my way back to the car. The three power modes are nice, but this scooter will require some starting room before going up some steeper hills, depending on how much weight is on it. I find that low works best for the store and the mall with my family, anything faster and they're jogging to keep up with me. On more flat and smoother terrain, it never skips a beat. Folding this unit is fast and requires very little space to store. It really is impressive. The locking mechanism is substantial and strong. I do have a few concerns, but they wouldn't stop me from purchasing this unit again. First, the hand brake is not very strong when holding the scooter in place while getting into the seat. It does work, but it doesn't keep the scooter completely still when locked. If you or a loved one parks on a lot of hills or inclines, this may be worth mentioning. It will still roll, just not quickly. However, when in operation, the hand brake works perfectly and stops the scooter quickly. Second, there is zero suspension on this unit, which means you will feel every bump and crack on the pavement. Since this is a three wheeled scooter, care must be taken when driving in areas where there may be stones or rocks on your path, and big gaps in concrete can cause a rough ride. This scooter does not do well in grass and on rocks. It's designed for smoother surfaces, requiring little suspension. If you're looking for something to go on unpaved park paths, gravel, or grassy areas, I would not recommend this scooter. Overall, this scooter is easy and fun to operate. I do get stopped from time to time, asked where I got it, how modern it looks, and lots of questions about the actual weight of the unit. The seat is very comfortable, assembly is simple, and it has given me back a lot of my time so I can be with my family and not miss out on the fun. This scooter isn't your average mobility device and has substantial pieces, hardware, seat, lights, and fittings. It's engineered well, and for all of the metal pieces, it weighs almost nothing. The tires are very solid, very little give in them, which is how they're able to not go flat and leave the rider stranded. Even the turn radius is manageable, and the grips are comfortable on your hands. My kids love ringing the included bell on the handlebars when I'm not looking. From a disabled person's point-of-view, I can say that I recommend this scooter completely. If you're transitioning from a four-wheeled device, you will need to learn how to operate it with one less wheel, but the overall experience of this scooter from start to finish is outstanding. I have some independence back, and I can even go out by myself without needing someone to tag along just to get my wheels out of the car. I admit that this is expensive, but.... for me, how can I put a price on independence? Real independence that doesn't require someone else to do all of the heavy lifting, assembly, loading, and packing. This scooter lets me do it myself. I love it. 8/19 Update: Experienced some problems with my battery not holding a charge. Contacted customer support via email, Lori was very helpful and took my concern very seriously. A new battery was issued quickly (after testing the old battery and providing me with a loaner battery while waiting) and have had zero issues since. Outstanding customer service. No other issues with my scooter, still ticks like a clock and works great. ... show more

  • Great little scooter
I am very happy with this scooter. I was worried about it climbing our long driveway with a fairly steep section but my 200 lb son made it up the hill with the speed on setting 3. This model is not the same as the one shown in the video on how to unbox it and set it up. The one in the video has a digital display. This one does not. I don't know if that display is something that can be added later. ... show more

  • Great Scooter
We purchased this scooter back in 2020 and now that I have used it for a couple of years I can tell you this is a useful scooter and if I had to buy another one for one reason or another I would buy the same one again. I drive a minivan and it fits very nice on one side of the vehicle. We went on vacation last year and had no problem with space. The scooter went on one side and our bags went on the other. The scooter is light enough that I can get it in and out of the van with no problems and when my back and leg is really hurting I grab one end and my wife grabs the other and it’s very easy getting it in and out, but like I said normally I have no problems with just me. Now the fun part, when I first got this scooter I weighed about 260 and this scooter moved around with no problems, normally in stores I keep it in first gear and my wife is right beside me as we shop. When I want to get somewhere a little quicker I put it in second gear and that little scooter shoots across the store, it is pretty quick. NOW if I’m going up an incline that’s at a higher angle it will stop and you have to get a push up or back down and get a running start up the incline so be aware of that. Overall I would give the little scooter a thumbs up, would recommend it to friends, and would buy another if something happened to this one. It is a fun versatile easy to use scooter. ... show more

  • What EASE of use!!!!!
Before I bought my SnapnGo I read every review on Amazon, most of them twice. The neurological disease of Ataxia has been increasingly worsening my ability to walk distances. So about a year ago I bought a Pride Go-Go Sport and it is an extremely good machine servicing me well, getting around Disneyland with my annual pass and anywhere else that requires distance. By the way I am 6’2” and weigh 200 lbs. Please be patient for I am coming to the part of the SnapnGo review. The only real problem with the Pride Go-go was loading and unloading it into my car. Yes it breaks down into four main parts but each is relatively heavy and it takes some motivation to put it together and take it apart. Because of that I was always hesitant to use it. It was a bit too much. That whole scooter weighs assembled about 120 lbs! (The total weight of the SnapnGo is about 52 lbs) So, I started researching light weight scooters that could perform as well but I could easily put in and out of the car without effort. I read everything on Amazon and even called the Glion company. I twice drove to the distributor in San Clemente and checked out the SnapnGo. Instead of being heavy like the Go-Go, the SnapnGo has absolutely no extra weight and is a breeze to load and unload in my car. The Go-Go requires about five motions lifting relatively heavy pieces and putting them together, while the SnapnGo basically needs the seat to be removed and the frame to be put in or out of the car in one easy motion. Viola!!! Now I keep the SnapnGo in my car at all times and do not hesitate to take it out and scoot anywhere I need or want to go. While I had to psych up to use the Go-Go, I use the SnapnGo on the slightest whim. Convenience is not the only thing; the snap and go is also a fine machine. I have now used it many times and really like it’s performance! It is stable, comfortable and can do over 7 miles per hour compared to the Go-Go’s 4.5. I gave it a test run of 11 miles traveling at least 6.5 mph. I am keeping the Go-Go as a back up and for friends to use along with me on the SnapnGo. Of course, there are some minor things I like better on each of the machines. I have found nothing about the SnapnGo that has been unacceptable. To the contrary I am absolutely thrilled at how much more I am prone to grab it out of the car to use. It’s a piece of cake. I must include in this review the excellent assistance I got from Laurie and Robert at the company. They answered my every question and Robert even walked me through a performance issue that got worked out. Excellent folks and support. Laurie made it abundantly clear I could either order directly from the company or from Amazon and that either direction would be the same. So, I went through Amazon and got the scooter in three days. It was amazing how well and secure it was boxed and how easily it came together. No muss, no fuss. I hope you are helped by my own journey through the world of mobility scooters. ... show more
