Please note that a controller cannot control multiple LED strips separately. Does it support OTA upgrading? Yes, the WLED controller can be upgraded through the WLED app. When upgrading, please select the firmware version corresponding to the controller. How to choose firmware during upgrade? You can select the firmware version corresponding to the controller. For example, if this controller is an ESP32 chip with mic function, you can choose ESP32 audioreactive firmware for upgrading. How to choose a power supply? Our controller would not change the voltage. You can choose a power supply based on the voltage and power of the LED strip. For example, If the LED strip is 5V, you need to choose a 5V power supply. What should we do if the controller cannot connect to WiFi? You can try long pressing the function key for more than 10 seconds to enter the mode of AP and activate the WLED-AP hotspot. How to choose LED strip? These are great. I’ve been using WLED for years but I used to spend so much time making my own controllers. Flashing ESPs - soldering mics, buck converters, and any other components that I needed - configuring everything - designing and 3D printing cases. This takes all that work out. I love it! I can spend half the amount of money by making my own controllers, but the ease and time I save by using these controllers make it worth the price, in my opinion. I really appreciate the ease of connecting the wires, no soldering needed and very easy to disconnect if needed. It’s fairly compact. I still have to make my own controllers if I’m super limited on space (I enjoy making RGB lamps and some designs just don’t have room for this controller). Good things sometimes come in small packages, and so it us with this addressable LED controller. I'm using it to control 650 RGB LEDs in a 45x15 array to light up the edges of my stairs, and so far haven't had any issues with it other than the typical deplorable documentation. Some good things: 1) Controls my 650 lights in two banks of 300+ each with no flickering. 2) Despite being powered from a meer scavenged Amazon 15w (1.25 amp) power supply, actually lights up all the lights (although I have it dimmed to the max begging a much beefier 30 amp one). 3) Has survived multiple accidental short circuits between the power and control lines without smoking or other issues (I don't advise doing this on purpose however!). 4) The recommend controller software (WLED Native) is very full featured, and easily works from my android phone on my home wifi network. Lots of settings however, so not for the timid. The WLED Native help website does have a bunch of resources, so you're not totally out of luck. They even provide access to the souce software if you're really adventurous. The only real downside is I haven't yet found a way to control it via Alexa voice commands like many of my other lights. So in conclusion, if you have less than 800 or so LEDs llyou want to control, the GLED controller is a pretty safe bet.     • Good, but costly.
It's a bit pricey considering a DIY option costs about $5, though the DIY option won't have the same flexibility and features. If you were to try to spec this out to match something like a govee light, you will be spending considerably more. This is $30, plus $15 for a power supply, plus LED strips which range from $20 to $40 per 5 meters, and the costs add up fast. What this does have is the ESP / WLED ecosystem. Unlike most other things, there is no internet required. WLED is a good and well supported open source project, and well integrated into home assistant. You get local control and flexibility at the cost of some cost and polish. If they could get the price down to around $15-$20 I'd have few reservations about buying and deploying this, but at $30 it's a pricey spend. I'm glad to have one around to use for testing strips and preparing projects, but I will otherwise DIY ESP options specific to the task at hand. Some improvements that could make this a more compelling buy: - Reduce the size, it's kind of big. - make a version that'd accept 24V in and step it down to 12V and 5V if the case calls for it - or make a version with the power supply built in ... show more

Worked great for a month.... All of a sudden it stopped lighting up any of my strips. I've been troubleshooting for a few days now. I tried factory reset, loading new wled, loading older wled, disabling all external inputs, disabling power limiting, switching GPIO, etc. When I test power at the input, it's 5v. When i test at the strip output terminals, it's 0. If I bypass the power on the controller and feed directly to the strip, it lights up. ... show more

Changing my rating to 5 stars and recommend this product. ---- Previous Review -------- I ordered this item which is described as "GLEDOPTO ESP32 WLED LED Strip Controller Mic UART" Model GLC-015WL-D. The Box also says it should be Model GLC-015WL-D. What I received was Model GLC-014WL which is an ESP8266 model with no Mic or UART. I tried sending the seller feedback but I got no response. I like GLEDOPTO products but I don't appreciate being ignored when I reported a problem. I will change my review to 5 stars if they respond. We will see. ... show more
