Use this laptop almost every day for work in web development. It's also a great gaming laptop. Played Tekken 8 at 1080p low quality but playable! Rocket League runs well too.

I love most everything about this computer. If you are not gaming the battery lasts forever and charges super fast. The wifi is great, the screen is great. The white lighting is weird when outside (minor problem). A lot more to love about it. I love its small profile and lightness. Now the big issue and it has to do with gaming. It can play everything, and thats good and all. However, if you are playing a higher intensive game the computer gets really stinking hot when plugged in. You can unplug it but the battery drains really fast if its not plugged in. On the one hand this limits my play times on more intensive games because I dont want to fry my computer. Downside is when I want to play over an hour I risk damage to the computer. I am currently really into Factorio and I can play for hours plugged in with no problems. Long story short. If you are a straight gamer this probably isnt for you you. With all that being said I am happy with the purchase. I am lucky as well because I got it Prime Day 2023 for $630 which is a steal. ... show more

I got this on special, and for the price I paid, wow. The hardware as of writing is a very capable low- to mid-range gaming PC, in a laptop form factor. I got this for the artist in the family to be able to render high-res scenes without crashing their computer. For most general art purposes, this is a beast. The laptop itself is okay. The barrel power plug is a bit silly when it's sitting right next to a USB-C port. Get with the times, Acer. But it all works. Keyboard and track pad are fine. Preinstalled bloatware wasn't too bad. Everything was uninstalled inside of an hour. The only real negative is that it does get hot. With this power and size there's no way around that. I do strongly recommend a "laptop cooler" of some sort, even just a vented plastic wedge to keep it off your legs. Or if you use a docking station to help control all your monitors and an external keyboard, you won't have to worry. Lovely laptop. Great performance. Can be gotten at truly decent prices. Ooened the box and tried to power it on, and it didnt work. Laptop never powered on. Not once. I spoke to acers support and they couldnt help me. What's worse was amazon customer service which just told me I couldnt get a replacement. I could get a refund and order a new one , but pay the full price, because its not on sale anymore and their policy says they cant honor a price on an item that should work at least once after taking it out of the box. I guess thats just asking for too much ... show more

I got this on prime day, and let me tell you I am so grateful I was able to get the deal on this one. The screen is absolutely beautiful and it is smooth. I use laptops for many things such as school and gaming. Now for the price, the graphics card, the ram, and the processor is absolutely a steal. Even for the normal price its definitely worth your money. Acer really hit it off with this one. My previous laptops were never anything special and I would often notice issues with either speed or just usability, but I didn't experience any of that with this laptop. If you travel a lot or need general use, its amazing, its super light and can take pretty much anything you throw at it. ... show more

Very fast and capable but shoddy workmanship. Power plug is an awful design and mine had to be repaired under warranty, which was a pain. Recently, after owning it about 18mo, two keys stopped working. No debris, spills or any other external reason for the failure. Bought a keyboard and tried to swap out the keyboard but it’s hard soldered to the casing, so you have to replace the entire housing. This machine is fools gold.
