I downsized from a 150 gallon tank to a 55 gallon. I bought the tank at PetSmart. I quickly became discouraged after my purchase when I learned they didn’t sell glass canopies that fit this particular tank. I tried multiple aquarium stores and even some on Amazon only to find each one of them would not fit. I found this product which seemed to be the perfect size. I also read a review of a person who has the same tank as me. I was so excited except the price seemed awful high. I decided not to purchase it because of that. Then, one day I got fed up with my cats messing with the hoods that came with the tank and decided I was ready to pay the price. Much to my surprise, it had significantly dropped. I immediately made my purchase. Soon after doing so, I received messages from the seller about it being on back order. They were very clear and direct in their communication about what to expect including timeframes and the notifications I may get from Amazon along the way. I was willing to wait for it in hopes it was what I needed. It ended up coming just a little later than I hoped, but when I messaged to get a status update they promptly replied. Everything they said to expect happened exactly as they described. I extend my biggest appreciation to the seller. The canopy fits perfectly for my tank, and I’m so relieved to be back to normal! I was highly impressed with their detailed, thorough, and most of all accurate communication. It was well worth the wait!!! I’ve been waiting to purchase my new filter system until I found a canopy that worked. Now I can get that and start building my plant life in the new tank.

I ordered this for my 5 gallon Betta tank, I really dislike those plastic lids that come with starter kits. The look of the glass lid is beautiful, and it matches my other tank. Seller verified I had measured my tank before shipment, I really appreciate that. This is an absolute perfect fit for the Aqua Culture 5 gallon glass aquarium. Like a glove! I requested that the hinge not to be installed but it was anyway, and the plastic was permanently bent from being folded in the box (see photo) so the lid would not stay closed like another reviewer said. However, I fixed this issue with zip ties and a hair dryer. I took the hinge off and with the hinge bent the correct way I zip tied the middle and ends. Then I put a warm/hot blow dryer on it for about 5 minutes. I let it cool with the zip ties on then carefully snipped the zip ties off and installed the hinge again. I do believe that over time the plastic would fix itself from the weight of the glass and gravity. But looks good, sturdy glass, fits perfectly. Overall great lid, love it! 5 stars.

Glass arrived intact and fits perfectly! The plastic is a bear to cut for your airlines, tubes and heater but that’s a good sign. I saw numerous reviews about the plastic being difficult to slide down the glass…don’t slide it down. I just pressed it onto the glass. No issues whatsoever. Great product!!

I'm very happy with the lid now that I've gotten the backstrip on, but I'm taking a star off for that misery. My god, I've put backstrips on glass aquarium lids before, but this one takes the cake for being nearly impossible. Because I'm using this for a vivarium for dart frogs, I was extremely hesitant to use Windex spray due to the ammonia, but it's the only thing that really worked. I tried heating the backstrip up using a blow dryer and the thinner part of the plastic started to warp, even though the heat was being applied to the part of the strip that slides over the glass. One of the backstrips is pretty warped, but I think it will be okay. I heated it up and did my best to reshape it. If the company offers replacement strips, I might buy one in the future, but for now, it's gonna have to work. For the second backstrip I just sprayed Windex all over the glass and slowly, painfully slid it on. I tried all techniques imaginable and the Windex was the only one that worked... My palms are beat up and I was wearing gloves. So glad I elected to have them install the hinges because I would be even more miserable if I had to put those on as well. I wish there were an option to have them put the backstrips on too. I did receive the email requesting I contact them to verify my tank's measurements to make sure I got the correct lid. I hadn't responded and I've already received the product. Totally fine for me, but just thought I'd mention it. The pros: came quickly (was expecting it no sooner than Dec. 28th. It arrived five days early) beautiful, fits well (had to trim like 1/16th of an inch off the backstrip) on my unknown manufacturer 55gal tank. The cons: Getting the backstrip in place... There are also a couple gaps that could let fruit flies escape the enclosure, but that's not too big of a deal. I can come up with a creative solution. If that were the only issue, I'd definitely give 5 stars. But I gotta take one off for that backstrip.

I don't like too much of a hassle, so I almost canceled when the seller reached out for me to confirm the size before completing the order, but I'm glad I didn't. Not only do they fit well and look nice, but the seller is great. They said they'd love to see photos of our aquarium and fish. After I sent them I got a personal message back saying I had made her day. Can't get customer service like that just anywhere these days! The handles do come off after a while, but the hold enough to lift the glass so you can grab it.

I was struggling to find a glass top for my Seapora 33 gallon long. For some reason most of the 55 gallon tops didn't quite fit, or had sharp edges. This one from Blue Spotted fit my aquarium perfectly! I did carefully measure before ordering, as suggested. I like that the glass edges are nicely smooth, and the center hinge is clear, making it easier for light placement. Glass top came very well packaged and nothing was broken. Thank you!!!!
