Description

Bacter AE Micro Powder adds important microorganisms, amino acids and enzymes to your aquarium. It enhances water quality and improves the development of biofilms, which are essential for shrimp. The biofilms thus created provide them with a valuable staple food rich in beneficial proteins, especially improving the survival rate of young shrimplets. In addition, live probiotic bacteria improve the nutrient uptake of the shrimp and influence their digestive processes in a positive way. The contained bacteria in Bacter AE Micro Powder cultures are activated as soon as they come into contact with water. They remove toxic substances and, together with all the other carefully fine-tuned components, they provide your aquarium with a good microclimate. Dosage (for 120 Liter) • lowly stocked: daily 1/2 measuring spoon • normally stocked: daily 1 measuring spoon • heavily stocked: twice a day 1 measuring spoon We recommend when first using, add only half the dosage during the first week 1 measuring spoon = about 0.5g Ingredients Amino acids, polysaccarides, xylanase, glucanase, amylase, protease, hemicellulase, Bacillus subtilis, Pediococcus acidilactici (Lactobacillus) Bacter AE Micro Powder is available in a 35g or 70g box. • Vastly improved survival rates of baby shrimp
This is a great product. After ordering it arrived very quickly and was well-packaged. The jar itself is also well designed. After unscrewing the top cover it reveals an inner lid. The small measuring scoop rest on the lid and stays separated from the powdered food. The inner lid also prevents the food from turning into dust particles in the air upon opening. It also May save the food if dropped while opening. The food itself is in powdered form and is extremely fine. To Add to the tank by measuring out a portion and allow it to dissolve on the surface of your water. The water column quickly fills with food. ( Taken from the back of Jar) "Bacter AE is designed to add important microorganisms amino acids and enzymes to your aquarium it enhances water quality and improves the development of biofilms which are essential for shrimp the biofilms created provide them with a valuable staple food rich in live probiotic bacteria it improves the nutrient uptake of the shrimp and influences their digestive processes in a positive way. Contains amino acids, polysaccharides, xylanase, glucanase, amylase, protease, hemicellulase, bacillus subtilis, pediococcus acidilactici (lacrobacillus)". Once built up in your tank it should Supply a nearly endless supply of food for baby shrimp improving survival rates and allowing you to raise healthier shrimp that are better quality and are more numerous than ever before I'm a True Believer in this product. I have also added bacter AE to my guppy tank. As all fish need biofilms to support their climate. They do not seem to feed on it as readily as but in my opinion it does improve the fishes stress and comfort level. And in my opinion as well provides every surface with a nice coating of biofilm making it harder for certain types of algae from clinging on to a surface. It also May prevent your fish from scratching him or herself on rough surfaces. As the biofilm acts as a mild lubricant. ... show more

  • Good product
Pros: * The container contains a small scooper that is nice to use for good measurement. * Definitely like many other users have said take what the instructions say with a grain of salt and apply about half or more of the scooper depending on your tank size. I have a 5 gallon and a 20 gallon tank and for the 5 gallon it seems about 1/4 of the scoop is good enough and for my 20 gallon 1/2 of the scoop is perfect. * If you have a syringe or a cup make sure you mix it in there before you put it into your tank as it will prevent clumping and make sure that the powder disperses evenly throughout the tank. * This helps with biofilm growth and for sure has good effect. Like many people suggest turn off your filters and then let it settle onto your tank so that most of it doesn't go into the filter. Cons: * The instructions are a bit unclear sometimes and their suggested amount is a bit too much. you might cause a bacterial bloom. * Overall just the instructions can be hard to follow. ... show more

  • Great experience with Bacter AE
This is the first time I used this product and I'm glad I did. I highly recommend it! I have tried mixing it in with some tank water and pouring it which went well. I also have sprinkled on top of the water which worked out fine too. My shrimp became active instantly eating it right away. Although the container seems small, the fine powder in it is ample enough to last a while. I appreciate that when you open the lid there is a clear top under it so that the fine powder doesn't spill out. Also, between the lid and the clear top is a tiny measuring scoop that is provided, so you won't have to dig into the product to find it. I don't really find that there is any odor to it. I followed the directions exactly as stated and I have not had any issues with it clouding my water as some have stated. ... show more

  • DONT FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS
Rhe directions say to add 2-3 scoops for a 20 gallon. I added about 1/4 of a scoop to my 10 gallon because I wanted to dose less than recommended, and it was still such an ungodly amount for my tank size. I immediately did a 50% water change to try to suck some out of it, but just 48 hours later I had to do another 50% water change and I am doing evey8i can to keep the cycle from fully crashing. I just got a good genetic breeding colony of neocardinias established with babies everywhere and I'm now having to test and change water daily with my parameters are all over the place. I've accepted that there's going to be a delay in the next round of eggs because my berried shrimp are dropping them from stress, but I'll be devastated I start losing shrimp. I guess this product is good for what it is, but they are insane for putting such directions on the container. I cannot imagine putting in more than an amount the size of half a grain of rice or even less in a small tank. They seriously need to update the directions for this to not become a lethal product. ... show more

  • Use less then directions say. Good product
I have watched videos on this that say to use about a rice grain amount for a 10 gal tank. This is less then the directions. I use a rice grain size amount about 1 or 2 times a week. It seems to work as I do see shrimp shrimp of all sizes constantly foraging. I mix the rice size amount in a cup with some dechlorinated water and pour it around the tank. The shrimp seem to be feeding on it immediately. If it does promote bio film in the tank they probably eating it before I can see it. I tried adding it directly to the tank but since it is a very fine powder it floats on the surface. I think it eventually sinks but mixing it in a cup seems to work much better. I did try mixing a scoop with some water in a bowl and left it for a few days. I did see what looked like bio film forming in the bowl so I do think it works. I will continue to use this as it doesnt seem to harm the shrimp but instead seems to be or helps form something they like to eat. The container has enough to last a long time for the amount I am feeding so I believe it is money well spent. ... show more
