This is one of the worlds best hair care products from a relatively new company out of Boulder, Colorado. This Highland product is smooth, not greasy, and will leave your hair feeling soft and healthy. It’s all natural so you don’t need to worry about putting toxic chemicals in your hair. It only takes a tiny bit so one tin will last quite a while. To top it all off it smells good, unlike so much of the competition.. I feel great about supporting Highland products and they will forever have a place on my shelf and then my hair.

This is the best pomade I’ve ever used - I am now on my third tin and will keep coming back. The clean ingredients are my favorite part; I felt like any pomade/forming cream I used in the past had too many chemicals and wouldn’t wash out well and damaged my hair. This pomade goes on smoothly, holds really well, smells great, and rinses out easily. It is labeled as medium hold but I would argue I get a strong hold out of it that lasts through a lot of sweating and a full day. Very happy to have found this brand!

This product has a really unique texture and is easy to use. Honestly the smell isn't really anything too special but it a pleasant one that doesn't linger very long. Bonus points to it being made of only natural ingredients though. For my coarse hair that is straight to slightly wavy, this pomade really struggled with both hold and texture; it doesn't seem like it's formulated for Asian hair types or at least I didn't have much success. It left my hair in weird bunches/clumps that would not move together in one direction, mostly all over the place even when combed. Would have loved for this one to work but it's onto the next.

I have a brillow pad beard and naturally wavy hair that likes to frizz. For years I've searched for a clean pomade to help me reel-in (but not tamp down) the tornado on my faze and the mop on my head. This. Is. The. Stuff. Not only is it reassuring putting something close to my face that has just 9 ingredients, it smells awesome (a requirement for a product used near my nose) and works a treat when it comes to allowing my hair some freedom of movement while nailing down fly-aways. I like this stuff so much I put a tin on my bathroom sink, one in my dopp bag and one in every guy's stocking in my family last Christmas. Do yourselves a favor. Throw down. You'll love it!

I was initially encouraged by this pomade. My purchase was motivated by the simplistic ingredients that offered a natural take to pomade. The reviews were mostly positive, and very few people with fine hair had negative things to say about this. First off, I was bit surprised at how little product comes in the container. For $30 I feel that this is a bit overpriced, but quality ingredients will drive up the price. One tin would probably last me ~30 days. Working this pomade in your hand is far more reminiscent to clay than pomade. You'll have to apply some force to spread a dollop evenly on your hands. I found that the hold was fairly light, I wouldn't call it 'medium'. It's less of a hold than Layrite and Public Goods pomades. For reference I have a side part that I've let grow out so that it's fairly long, just about touching my ears on the sides. The amount of product I need to use to achieve the hold with hair at this length leaves it looking shiny and greasy. This is particularly noticeable on trips to the gym or when it is hot out. If you have fine hair and you're looking for a matte look, I would try something else. If you keep your hair short, and you're okay with some shine, this would probably work for you. I imagine if you have thicker hair this would the trick. As per most reviews thicker hairs to not get as greasy.

I’ve been try to find a good low-chemical hair clay, I’ve had this other brand but it had this certain stale smell to it. This Highland clay though is amazing! Only like 7 ingredients and to top it off a great light pine/sandalwood smell. The hold is exactly what I want, not too stiff, but enough to hold your hair in place while looking natural and flexible with low shine. Relatively easy to wash out with shampoo as well. It may be expensive, but I’m already a fan after a couple days, will definitely continue using this one, highly recommend!
