I've had this in my shop for about 3 months now. I have a 800sqft outbuilding that was previously heated and cooled with space heaters and a portable ac. I went ahead with the 18k btu knowing it would be overkill but with not knowing exactly how well the building is insulated I figured it was worth the risk. My husband and I were able to install it in a days time with the help of some HVAC tech friends tools. The ac actually blows so cold so well that I have to keep it set around 78 otherwise I have to dress for winter in the summer time. I have only had to turn the heat on once so far and it worked very well. I had to set it much lower at 70 and the next morning it was 77. I don't think that the temperature differences are because of the unit itself, because the temperature does stay consistent rather with where we had to install it due to lack of availability of space. Since installing it my electric bill has finally gone down because it's not constantly running. Half of the time I don't even realize it is running because it's not loud at all compared to the portable I used to run. I am actually considering buying another for my master so I don't have to heat the whole house in the winter and can just use my fireplace and it as heat source. ... show more

We've had two of these delivered. Spent a lot of time on install. Have had a licensed electrician check both times that unit was receiving power. Power was good but both units failed to turn on. These are absolute junk. The installation manual is written in jibberish. If you want to waste 12 hours on install and uninstall like me, buy this crap air conditioner. I dropped my Amazon Prime membership and returned everything eligible because the customer service on the returns and replacements was so poor. I'll never shop on this site again in my life. If i want to buy junk, I'll just go to a junk yard. ... show more

Ordered this through Amazon and had a licensed HVAC company install it in my garage to keep the animals cool and or warm. Everything worked fine for the first summer and winter…….And then, it didn’t. Had the HVAC company come back and see if the unit had leaked any R-32 refrigerant out. No leak. After a few conversations via email with the Costway customer service team and a little bit of uncertainty, they agreed to replace my outdoor unit at no charge. Hopefully, this is a one off and just had a restriction somewhere in the outdoor unit. Most likely a faulty part. I believe they make a bumper sticker about things like that I’ll follow up on this review in 6 months to let you all know how the follow through went with Costway. Packaging could have been better, had a dent on one corner of the condenser unit. Hooked up unit, inside unit kept throwing a code. Took awhile but figured out there was a connection inside the condenser unit that wasn't plugged in. After all that, unit works fine.

The media could not be loaded. I had ordered this same unit last summer for another property of mine and it seemed newer and more advanced. This particular unit is noisy when shutting down and blows hot air and vapor almost every time I shut it off.
